“What's the biggest known structure in the universe? Astronomers used to
think it was a "filament" of galaxies known as the Sloan Great Wall. But
recent research suggests a different structure is even bigger- and its size
has astronomers scratching their heads. Meet the Hercules-Corona Borealis

More Exposure Of NASA And Their Fraud Space Missions: Is The International Space Station A Hoax? Interesting Video - Bogus Reentry Vehicles (Part I)
I started my road to the truth about our sick world by my exposure to the
fraud of NASA's Project Apollo some 35 years ago.... At that time, I was a

Tax Those House-Builders! Or Not?
So on the one hand you have a politician and sundry numpties saying that
the cure for affordable housing is a large and confiscatory Capital Gains

And on the other you have a Bill before Parliament admitting that taxation
makes it difficult to supply cheap housing -- otherwise why would they have

Exercise of right to silence on arrest cannot be led against credibility of accused
R. v. Duong, 2014 ONCA 375:
[54] I agree. It was open to the trial judge to reject the
appellant's explanation given at trial because it was not believable and to
use that finding in assessing his credibility. However, here the trial
judge used the appellant's silence when he was first arrested as one basis
for finding him incredible and ultimately rejecting his testimony. This,
he was not entitled to do.

I just received from a friend, a Joint Statement made today on how to
improve EPIRA implementation. Many of these points are practical, some are
technical. I fully agree with the statement, "EPIRA is not the problem,
failure to implement it properly is." The call by many populist and

EPIRA is wrong.

Amending or making changes in the Electric Power Industry Reform Act

AVOIDING THE GAPS: Porter picks and chooses!
*TUESDAY, MAY 27, 2014*
*Part 1—Some of the gaps disappear:* In last week’s Economic Scene column,
the New York Times’ Eduardo Porter avoided some of the gaps.
We refer to the “achievement gaps” which help define the state of America’s
public schools. At a glance, you might not see that Porter was avoiding
some of those gaps.
As he started his column, Porter stressed a familiar old theme—the alleged
failure of American schools as compared to those in the rest of the
developed world. Then, he cited one of our highly significant gaps—“the
persistent gulf in the test results between ... more »
Why we have political parties and what that means
Parliamentary democracy works on the basis that voters choose the type of
government they want through proxies.
Specifically, a conservative voter might like Stephen Harper as Prime
Minister but that voter cannot (unless they live in Mr Harper's riding)
vote for him - the voter has to vote for someone else who supports Mr
Harper. Similarly someone who likes Mr Harper's policies on, say, crime
cannot vote directly on the issue but must vote for a member of Mr.
Harper's party in the expectation that member will vote accordingly.
That means, of course, that some of the freedom an ind... more »
How Does Civil Society Influence the State
Right. So, bourgeois democracy is a crock of shit. It's a fool's errand
that only the dull and the deluded participate in. What's more important
than the state is civil society. The collective will of the people. The
power of groups outside of the state apparatus.
What is this power that we speak of? On its side, the state has the police,
the surveillance, the courts, the prisons. The money supply. On our side,
we don't have the law. Many profound thinkers have schooled me to the fact
that the rule of law is a *complete* sham in this country. We have no

Because on the BBC some 'holy sites' are holier than others

it reveals about the BBC different attitudes to Jewish and Muslim 'holy

At the al-Aqsa mosque compound, the Pope urged people of all religions to

He then prayed at the Western Wall, which lies just beneath it, bowing his
head as he touched the stones.
Note how the BBC carefully crowbar the word into the Al-Aqsa line but leave
any mention of peace out of the Western Wall line, subtle but effective?

ex-congressman Trey Radel (not to be confused with another kind of GOP
sociopath, Trey Gowdy; still in Congress). I'm asking because the
Tallahassee party house he and another disgraced former Republican
congressman (and his ex-best friend), David Rivera, own, was once a
notorious for free-flowing drugs, women and dirty cash. But maybe Rubio
cleaned up his act. Watch the Colbert video and judge for yourself.

Do you consider your Eco-impact before buying?
This month, we asked a question about purchases.
Here are the results:

As always, our surveys aren't scientific and, quite frankly, most
participants are already "greenies". That said, I believe that it's part of
a trend ... people are thinking beyond the immediate and are considering
their actions in terms of the bigger picture. Along with packaging,
ingredients, and locality, we are adding another criteria to our shopping
decisions ... the far reaching impact of a purcha... more »
The Human Web
Cultural cheerleaders constantly shout about how lucky we are to live in an
age of miracles, a utopia of technology and progress. Everything is just
great (if you cram most of reality under the bed).
But the folks who rip off their blinders know better. They can perceive
huge and growing crises that cannot be well addressed via the pursuit of
shopping and entertainment. They can see that it’s time to learn, to
think, and to change. Understanding how we got into this bog of
predicaments requires learning, lots of learning. For this, we need our
superheroes, the historians.

Why Isn't The Victim's Father Blaming The NSA Instead Of The NRA ???
(Above: the father of one of the victims, if it even happened they way the
"news" is telling us, of another "LONE NUT GUNMAN" with a "MANIFESTO" that
the NSA just can't seem to catch...although they're spying on us all 24x7.)
In this latest (supposed) mass shooting in which we should question so many
things about it, I have two questions.
1. Was it a FALSE FLAG?
It has all the hallmarks of a FALSE FLAG, as I explain in this post I put
up several months ago:

Welfarism 28: Nanny State Cares Too Much for its Citizens, UK Style
A welfare and nanny state will ultimately over-extend its "care" for the
citizens. Spy, stop and penalize them because it cares for them so much.
This is from a Filipino-British friend living in UK, he wrote this
yesterday.

*We now have a heavy police presence. There are frequent checkpoints with
teams of maybe 10-20 police, their vans, cars and motorbikes spread out
along the road. They randomly check motorists to make sure their papers are
in order. I have never seen this as part of normal police procedure in the
UK. Now it's like an every day thing.*

Okay, so it wasn't "Brotherhood of Man." (Composer-lyricist Frank Loesser,

The man who helped bring about the most significant leak in American
intelligence history is to reveal names of US citizens targeted by their
own government in what he promises will be the “biggest” revelation from
nearly 2m classified files.

Syria: Bending Rules- "special tribunals" and specific exemptions
It is absolutely disgusting to ponder the perception management that the
NATO nations, lead by the US, will engage in to create the belief, that
they are concerned with the well being of humanity. Anywhere.
In this case, the somewhere were speaking of is Syria
Often, when reading through information it is difficult to comprehend the
level of perversity involved in these twisted machinations. Nonetheless the
depravity of the war mongering, life and environment destroying psychopaths
is obvious for those with eyes to see...

KIPP: ". . .it's almost like a cult"
Bill was an experienced urban teacher when he came to Memphis to teach at
KIPP. Like other teachers I have interviewed, he found himself so
compromised and burned out that he did not last very long. When he
unexpectedly was offered an opportunity in another state, he bailed. Here
are a few excerpts from our conversation:
INTERVIEWER: How do you think KIPP achieves its purpose and its aims?
BILL: They don’t, not in Memphis, and, you know, I knew about KIPP
__________ when I was working down there as well. They don’t achieve their
aims. Here’s what KIPP’s MO is. They’ll take kids ... more »
Change in UK politics? Well, not so much.
It’s said that UK politics has changed overnight with the rise to
prominence of Nigel Farage’s UKIP Party.
Change? Well, not so much. Because the biggest winner on the night was
still “None of the Above.”

Just as it was, in overwhelming numbers, in previous UK elections.
And some of ours.

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts was not merely Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy under Ronald Reagan and an Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal. In 1982 he became the first occupant of the William E. Simon Chair for Economic Policy at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, holding this position to 1993. He became a Distinguished Fellow at the Cato Institute from 1993 to 1996. In this blog post he speaks of Zbigniew Brzezinski as his colleague, and explains the Brzezinski and Wolfowitz doctrines to prevent other countries from rising above the US. PCR: "In the Wolfowitz Doctrine, any other strong country is defined as a threat and a power hostile to the US regardless of how willing that country is to get along with the US for mutual benefit."

Memorial Day is when we commemorate our war dead. Like the Fourth of July,
Memorial Day is being turned into a celebration of war.
Those who lose family members and dear friends to war don’t want the deaths
to have been in vain. Consequently, wars become glorious deeds performed by
noble soldiers fi... more »
How Central Banks Are Waging War on Your Savings
*Guest post by Mark Thornton*
Martin Wolf is the chief economics commentator at the influential *Financial
Times*. Mr. Wolf has only deteriorated in my estimation over time. He has
reached an all time low with his recent editorial (“Wipe out Rentiers with
Cheap Money,” 5/6/14), where he argues that the cheap money policy used by
central banks is here to stay, so get used to it.
What makes his conclusion so tainted is that he understands the
consequences of this policy. He even invokes the famous remark of Keynes
regarding the “euthanasia of the rentier” where he supported the rui... more »
Diabetes as an Iatrogenic Disease - the Indian Experience
Diabetes and dairy fat in India.
The epidemics of diabetes, cardiovascular disease and related
conditions in India have been called iatrogenic (Raheja B.S. 1994), a
product of diets high in linoleic acid as a result of “chasing the phantom
of cholesterol” (Raheja et al. 1993). The traditional Indian diet (39% fat)
supplied 20.3%E as saturated fats, mainly from ghee, with 5% from linoleic
acid. Concerns that this diet is atherogenic have resulted in replacement
of ghee with high-linoleate oils; the modern urban diet being 31.9% fat,
with 5.6%E as saturated fat, and 16.9% linole... more »
