Daniel Webster-- Now A Florida Congressman Without A Cult

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 17 minutes ago
Last night I took old friend, Wisconsin Democratic Senate Leader Chris Larson, for dinner at the best vegan restaurant in the area, Crossroads. Unfortunately, all the desserts are made with sugar so afterwards, we went down the road to Cafe Gratitude for some sugar-free, gluten-free desserts. As we were parking and walking over to the restaurant, I explained to Chris that the place was run by a cult. He seemed stunned. "Oh, they're harmless enough," I assured him. He seemed skeptical and I explained that I thought they were affiliated with Landmark, a group that grew out of the wr... more »

[image: Libyan fighter jet]The Libyan army imposed a no fly zone over Benghazi on Saturday in a direct challenge to a retired general who has been using airpower to press a campaign against Islamist militants there. Khalifa Haftar, who lived in exile in the United States before returning home to lead ground forces in the 2011 NATO-backed uprising that toppled Muammar Gaddafi, heads what he calls a "National Army". On Friday his paramilitary force, backed by warplanes and helicopters, pounded Islamist militiamen in Libya's second city and pitched battles with the ex-rebels. Read more

RAF's £70 million F-35 fighter 'may be cancelled because of poor performance'

Ko Savonije at Naval Open Source INTelligence - 19 hours ago
[image: F-35 Lightning II]Britain's long-delayed £70 million stealth fighter may have to be cancelled because of its poor performance, according to analysis by a senior US Air Force officer. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter being built for British and US forces is based on outdated ideas of air warfare, it is claimed. The aircraft could be unable to evade enemy radar and be too expensive for long campaigns. The critique in the US Air Force’s own journal concludes that the new fighter may even have “substantially less performance” than some existing aircraft. Read more

Lawmakers in the the U.S. House did not challenge Hagel’s proposal last week when they considered the 2015 defense budget, so the plan is moving forward. Read more

A case in point is the recent visit by Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov to four Latin American nations in April (Chile, Cuba, Nicaragua and Peru).
