The thesis of this column is that the U.S. "mainstream media" reports only "news" vetted by the U.S. Government, an entity that lies on virtually every issue for which We The People would be better off learning the truth. The "mainstream media" now reports only the government's version, because several well known and respected U.S. newscasters have been fired for telling the truth. Currently, the government propaganda being passed off as news is blaming Russia for things that happened recently in Ukraine that Russia did not commit. Ironically, a popular American newscaster for Russia Today (RT), Abby Martyn fell for some of this propaganda and criticized Russia on the air for doing things it actually didn't do ...and yet she was NOT fired! Further to this morning's post and the continued claims from

The trouble with making direct comparisons is that the weight (of the

compared in all but one case only where the women are in a higher weight
category, thus giving them a slight advantage. The exception to this is in
the highest women's category when women of any weight... more »

The Pentagon has confirmed launching a drone strike against the Logar
Province of Afghanistan today, hitting their allies in a case of mistaken
identity. The strike kill five Afghan National Army soldiers, and wounded
eight others.
The provincial governor’s spokesman said that the attack was “the result of
poor coordination between the people on the ground and the operators of the
drone.” NATO has promised an investigation into the k... more »

Before we look at the fake photos of 911, let's get our orientation right
with the correct perspective of the sun's shadow defined by its altitude
(tangent of shadow) and azimuth (with reference to true north). Follow us
as we go through the journey of discriminating the truth and facts from
fakery.
At 8:45am on 21 Sept 2001, the sun's shadow azimuth is 297 deg; casting a
shadow in perfect alignment with the northern and southern sides of the WTC
-1 and WTC-2 towers. (marked N1, S1, N2, S2 on the sat.... more »
Why I Blog
Phil at A Very Public Sociologist - 1 day ago
For seven-and-one-third years this blog has weighed on my brain like a
digital nightmare. Apart from a six month break in 2007 and 18 months
2011-12, I've been writing or thinking about writing content. Even when I
took a leave of absence words, phrases, screeds of 500 words or more often
tangoed across my eyeballs when the shutters came down at night. As our
minds have allowed social media technologies to colonise and structure our
perceptions - how many times have you thought of a real-life in terms of an
instagram snap or a sharply-observed tweet? - so mine finds half-digested

Conflict Resolution In Ukraine And Crimea
Saman Mohammadi at The Excavator - 1 day ago
*Source of photo*.
We've heard a lot of talk of war in Ukraine, but very little about how to
resolve the crisis in a peaceful, balanced, and rational way. The same
pattern that we witnessed in Syria in 2011, which began with violent
protests against the regime followed by threats and arming of Jihadist
extremists by the Obama administration, is now being repeated in Ukraine.
President Obama even has the audacity to claim that developments in Ukraine
represent *"an unusual and extraordinary threat"* to U.S. national security.
In reality, it is European, Ukrainian, and Russian securi... more »
Not All Education Reform Is Of The Phony-Baloney Michelle Rhee Rip Off Variety

Progressives understand this; conservatives don't
An old friend of mine, Bertis Downs, who has shared some insights into
education policy with us before, just wrote a letter to President Obama
about the impact of his administration’s standardized test-based policies.
Bertis said it was OK to share it here.
Dear President Obama,
Last month, you hosted Clarke Central High School’s college admissions
advisor Lawrence Harris at the White House. You honored this exemplary
educator at a forum on making college more attainable for low-income
students, and our community celebrated his reco... more »
