The tremendous resources of Ukraine are seen as a huge prize for the enrichment of the biggest banks and corporations in Western Europe and the United States. These resources include major deposits of coal, iron ore, manganese, nickel and uranium. It holds the largest sulfur and second-largest mercury reserves in the world, and vast, rich agricultural lands and forests. In addition, Ukraine has large-scale heavy industry, particularly in the eastern part of the country.

We should reduce spending on nuclear weapons more suited for the Cold War than the strategic challenges we face today.

Here’s a distinction we shouldn’t be proud of: More people are incarcerated in the United States than any other nation in the world. The number of federal inmates has doubled over the past decade, costing taxpayers around $80 billion a year. One reason: Mandatory minimum sentences for drug crimes, immigration violations, and other non-violent offenses.
The good news is that while such inflexible punishments have proven popular with politicians and many of their constituents, a bipartisan consensus is emerging that they take a huge toll – not only on the incarcerated and their families but also on communities and taxpayers. The Justice Department is now recommending that prosecutors use greater discretion before charging defendants with crimes that come with mandatory minimum sentences; Attorney General Eric Holder wants to charge minor criminals with lesser crimes or pass them to local prosecutors. A better route would be through legislation doing away with mandatory minimums altogether (bipartisan bills have been introduced in the Senate and House to do just that).

For every disease found on the Earth, there is a cure on the Earth and in nature itself. To think we need any pharmaceutical intervention for any disease is amisunderstanding of the relationship between a human being and its micro and macro ecosystems. When we come full circle in our understanding that disease is a product of our environment, sustenance and emotional states, we will finally embrace that all of the answers exist within those areas and not within the realm of anything artificial. It's a very simple concept, yet a very difficult reality that humanity struggles to adopt.
New database lists 824 murdered, missing native women in Canada
Canada's Missing and Murdered Women
As part of her PhD thesis, federal civil servant Maryanne Pearce created her own database of missing and murdered women in Canada, cross-referencing newspaper articles, police websites and reports, court documents and other public sources. We’ve created an online database based on Appendix F of her thesis – a list of more than 3,300 cases of missing or dead Canadian women. See the database.
Why won't people acknowledge the fact they are have been forced into Indentured Servitude as Debt-Slaves to the Federal Reserve Banking Families and that they are the legal "Chattel" or "property" of these 3 Corporations known as "The United States", The "City of London" and The "Vatican"?
Why won't people acknowledge the spiritual battle going on and the war for souls?
From a friend; "Well, I suppose if they were born into slavery and treated half way decently... they may have feared the new, and uncertain prospect of freedom..."

There's No Need to End Saturday Mail Delivery - Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.):
The U.S. Postal Service is one of our most popular and important government agencies. It provides universal service six days a week to every corner of America, no matter how small or remote. It supports millions of jobs in virtually every other sector of our economy. It provides decent-paying union jobs to some 500,000 Americans, and it is the largest employer of veterans.
Whether you are a low-income elderly woman living at the end of a dirt road in Vermont or a wealthy CEO living on Park Avenue, you get your mail six days a week. And you pay for this service at a cost far less than anywhere else in the industrialized world.
Yet the Postal Service is under constant and vicious attack. Why? The answer is simple. There are very powerful and wealthy special interests who want to privatize or dismember virtually every function that government now performs, whether it is Social Security, Medicare, public education or the Postal Service. They see an opportunity for Wall Street and corporate America to make billions in profits out of these services, and couldn't care less how privatization or a degradation of services affects ordinary Americans.

The killing blow on your mail delivery is largely self inflicted, while corporate vultures circle. But shouldn't they be answerable to the people who own it?
