10:31pm MST2nd ICCC in New York, March 2009
On March 6, 2009, my plane landed in New Jersey airport (route was
Manila-Narita-Detroit-NJ, Delta Air). I saw small mounds of snow on the
tarmac, other parts of NJ and New York. Days before that, there was a
winter storm, dumping lots of snow. Some remnants of the snow. No, I did
not shovel it, it was only for picture-taking :-)
That was in front of the house of my friend from UP, Leandro "Jojo"
Chan who hosted me in his house in NJ for one day. The next day, March 7, I
moved to my hotel in NYC, New York Marriot Marquis Hotel. Thanks again, Jo.

Are Corporatist/Careerist Democrats Even Worthy Of Carrying The Progressive Vision?
Independent candidate
Adolph Reed, who exploded onto the national scene last week with an
incisive article-- and Bill Moyers interview-- about the demise of the
left, said he expected pushback from liberals. And he got it. Many
Democrats-- particularly the ones whose incomes depend on being a party
functionary-- don't have an inkling that the Democratic Party as a vehicle
for a progressive agenda is what makes the party valuable, not just a
"blue" color or a meaningless "mystery meat" brand being pushed by the
Beltway professional Democrats and careerists. No one is voting for your

Chet Raymo, “The Invisible”
*“The Invisible”*
by Chet Raymo
“The first three stanzas of a poem of Charles Simic called "The Invisible":
‘It was always here.
Its vast terrors concealed
By this costume party
Of flowers and birds
And children playing in the garden.
Only the leaves tell the truth.
They rustle darkly,
Then fall silent as if listening
To a dragonfly
Who may know a lot more of the invisible,
Or why else would its wings be
So translucent in the light,
So swift to take flight,
One barely notices
It's been here and gone.’

“Why Dark Chocolate Is Good For Your Heart”
*“Why Dark Chocolate Is Good For Your Heart”*

“It might seem too good to be true, but dark chocolate is good for you and
scientists now know why. Dark chocolate helps restore flexibility to
arteries while also preventing white blood cells from sticking to the walls
of blood vessels. Both arterial stiffness and white blood cell adhesion are
known factors that play a significant role in atherosclerosis. What's more,
the scientists also found that increasing the flavanol content of dark

Democrats Need 17 Pickups To Take Back The House-- So The DCCC Endorses 16 Red To Blue Candidates
I don't expect lazy Beltway reporters to dig this deep, but the real story
of yesterday's DCCC Red-to-Blue announcement was less about a bunch of lame
recruits like Blue Dog Gwen Graham (FL) and "mystery meat" no issues
candidates like Domenic Recchia (NY) and Ann Callis (IL), than it was about
which candidates and which districts got left out again. As we mentioned
yesterday, Israel downgraded incredibly bad Jump Start recruits Pete

the DCCC has backed away from interfering in the primaries in those

Pepe Escobar dosen't have the academic credentials of Paul Crag Roberts, he looks like a hippie, and he writes on serious subjects with grave-yard humor. However he has a brilliant mind and has educated himself in the current affairs and histories of the many countries in Asia and Europe that he has covered boots-on-the-ground for Asia Times. Regarding Ukraine, you will read that Pepe has the same disdain as PCR for the US role in fomenting the current "color" revolution but adds the additional facts that Ukraine was already an economic basket case and was about to be bailed out by Russia! So if Russia now decides to allow western Ukraine to secede from the Russian-speaking east, its impending economic crash and current domination by ruthless anti-semitic neo-nazi thugs will be inherited by the EU ...thanks to high ranking US idiots.

BOXING IN THE BEAR
I am learning so much from all this work going on now about Ukraine.
Statements, or even meanderings, have been slow to come from the leadership
of many peace groups in the US and then they've been very cautious.
Caution even from folks who know what is really going on. The old
‘anti-reds’ hysteria from the past still lives here in the US of A. But
the up swell of interest and concern from every day grassroots activists is
strong and they are seeing the bigger picture.
The big picture is what drives me.... I’m a visual learner. Once I get a

Journalists believe the darnedest things!
*TUESDAY, MARCH 4, 2014*
*Kirn gives as good as he got:* A fascinating book review appeared in
Sunday’s Washington Post.
The book in question concerns the way a journalist got conned by a con man.
The journalist is question is Walter Kirn. In his new book, he refers to
himself as a dupe.
Kirn was conned by someone he believed to be a member of the Rockefeller
clan. In fact, Kirn’s friend was a long-time Bavarian con man who ended up
getting tried and convicted of murder last year in New York.
(The murder occurred in 1985.)

Powell recalls the way the deputy mayor of Newark was convicted of

Electric Car Success Story
There is no denying the Cadillac ELR produces automotive salvation. The ELR

a pretty face and nice body. It cost nearly double a Volt and roughly the

We need a universal DNA database
Lets start with Canada. The cost of violent crime in Canada is pegged at $8
Billion dollars a year. More than half that waste is sexual assault. If
every Canadian and every visitor to Canada had their DNA on record imagine
the impact on crime.
The logistics of tracking visitors could be problematic. To start just
take a swab and bag it. If evidence points to a visitor go back and do some

theirs in the wrong place.
The second huge benefit would be medical. Matches for bone marrow and

It is important to connect into one’s heart and follow its counsel and to
remember that some people are going through experiences in their present

Especially remarkable was the tone it adopted over the Russia-Ukraine

Mr Sheremeta (who seems a reasonable sort of chap, unaffiliated to any

purely peaceful means.

The BBC must be so frustrated this morning
Ordinarily the news that a David Cameron aide had been arrested for
anything, let alone an offence "relating to child abuse imagery", would be
headline news at the BBC.
However the PIE affair is still hanging over Labour's Deputy Leader Harriet

Also we all remember very clearly that the BBC ignored the PIE story until

Sandy Hook HOAX! - Sherrie Questioning All Shows Proof That The Criminals Modified The "Crime Scene" At The Phony School!
The Sandy Hook hoax and operation is now being blown wide open on an almost
daily basis... The criminals are now running scared and have resorted to
pleading with the US Government to have all evidence now suppressed for the
"sake of the families" involved in this fraud... This is a travesty of
justice, and should show everyone now that this was indeed a fraud, and an
operation where NOBODY died....
Sherrie, who writes the excellent blog: Sherrie Questioning All, at
www.sherriequestioningall.blogspot.com, has done some valuable research in
showing that Sandy Hook was indeed an opera... more »

Tomorrow May Be Primary Day In Texas, But This Is NOT A State Of Miracles By Any Stretch Of The Imagination
Did you ever believe all those claims-- primarily pushed on a credulous
national media by Rick Perry's similarly ridiculous presidential campaign--
that Texas, using Austeritarian economic models that have failed everywhere
else in the world, was enjoying a time of great prosperity when the rest of
us were suffering? I never did-- not for a moment. They have oil and they
have rich people consuming conspicuously-- but normal Texans were in the
same condition as everyone else impacted by the disastrous GOP economic
agenda of the Bush years. And today *Washington Monthly* editor Phil... more »

US Attempts to Vilify Russia are Astounding Hypocrisy
[image: 443]*March 4, 2014* (Tony Cartalucci - New Eastern Outlook) - In
the wake of the West’s horrifying handiwork in Libya, Syria, Iraq, and
Afghanistan, condemnation for Russia’s “intervention” falls flat. For all
intents and purposes, “intervention” in Ukraine has already been carried
out. Without the extensive backing by the West, its media machine, its
corporate-funded foundations, and covert political manipulation for years
in Eastern Europe and in Ukraine in particular, the “Euromaiden” mobs would
never have materialized in the first place – let alone successfully

“The Giant Lie About Fukushima”
*“The Giant Lie About Fukushima”*
by Karl Grossman
“With the third anniversary of the start of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear
catastrophe coming next week, the attempted Giant Lie about the disaster
continues—a suppression of information, an effort at dishonesty of
historical dimensions. It involves international entities, especially the
International Atomic Energy Agency, national governmental bodies—led in
Japan by its current prime minister, the powerful nuclear industry and a
“nuclear establishment” of scientists and others with a vested interest in
atomic energy.

Butt Farce
Today, Steve's partisan puppet Speaker Andrew Scheer punted a decision
about Brad Butt lying to the House *twice* about personally witnessing
vouching election fraud back to the House for debate. Because you can lie
in the House, apparently - you just can't use the words "lie" or "liar".
You'll recall this bs about vouching encouraging voter fraud was the excuse
the Cons gave to explain why they want their Fair Elections Act to prohibit
vouching in future elections. And Butt sits on the committee studying it -
PROC, the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, consisting... more »

Ukraine Threatens War Over Crimea, But Options Are LimitedWeek After
Takeover, Interim Govt Not Ready for War With Russia
by Jason Ditz, March 01, 2014

With autonomous Crimea’s parliament approving a referendum for secession
and Russia’s parliament approving military action in the area, the week-old
Ukraine interim government is getting the sense that its maritime province
is quickly slipping away. That’s got them riled up, and threatening war.
That’s the rhetoric the anti-Russia protesters in Kiev wan... more »
Kerry to Kiev as Neocon Washington Post Wails for War
Secretary of State John Kerry, fresh off of his whirlwind tour of the
Sunday morning lie factories is heading to Kiev to bolster the illegitimate
western backed government that just toppled democratically elected
President Viktor Yanukovych. Kerry has been dispatched with a mandate from
the narcissist in chief Barack Obama to ensure that the loathed Russian
leader Vladimir Putin is made to lick the star-spangled jackboots of Uncle
Sam for his recalcitrance in saving Snowden from one of Obama’s torture
black sites and then intervening to stop the war on Syria. The Skull and

Russia setting the agenda in Ukraine- Crimea- Nuland really did " F" Europe
Here is the latest I have been able to quickly round up:
Russia/Crimea/UN/
*Russia setting agenda in Ukraine-*
Russia called for a national unity deal in Ukraine even as it tightened
its stranglehold over Crimea, a bold combination of diplomacy and
escalating military pressure. The U.S. and European Union floundered for
solutions — while global markets panicked over the prospect of violent
upheaval in the heart of Europe.
The use of the word *stranglehold* is interesting and evocative but not
accurate.
Recent news is reporting, according to the western backed regime change

A Note on the Ukrainian Revolution
In his polemic against "anti-authoritarian" socialists, Engels said this of
revolution.
A revolution is certainly the most authoritarian thing there is; it is the
act whereby one part of the population imposes its will upon the other part
by means of rifles, bayonets and cannon — authoritarian means, if such
there be at all; and if the victorious party does not want to have fought
in vain, it must maintain this rule by means of the terror which its arms
inspire in the reactionists.
Engels goes on to note that the problem with the 1871 Paris Commune was not
so much its authoritaria... more »
