Jamal Kanj

Jamal Kanj was born in a Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon ten years after the creation of the state of Israel. He moved to the United States in late 1977, and has been active in various local and national political organizations. Jamal Kanj is the Co-founder of the Middle East Cultural and Information Center in San Diego and he has served as the Secretary General for the US chapter of National Student Union. Jamal Kanj has post graduate degrees in Leadership, Global Management, and a BS degree in Civil Engineering. He is a California registered professional engineer and is working on water infrastructure management. Like so many other Palestinians, the life of Jamal Kanj has been an odyssey of conflict, displacement and resettlement and Jamal Kanj is expressing a lifetime experience with the Palestinian diaspora and struggle against and with the occupation through his writings. Jamal Kanj is columnist at several newspapers and websites. Jamal Kanj became a contributor of columns and opinion articles on Palestine, Middle East and other issues in May 2013.
