Northerntruthseeker Rant For Sunday, September 22nd, 2013

Sunday again, and again time for my weekly rant.... I do feel that I have been neglecting this blog recently, due to my concentration on finishing this course material for my job.... With changes in technology, it was a decision between myself and my company that some enhancement was necessary to keep my job valid. I am right now about to finish the material and write the examination this coming week... It has been very grueling and very hard, and has taken me away from other business... Once this course is completed, I should be back to my normal blogging... In my absence these ... more »

Czech president talks about rodents in EU politics

Czech president Miloš Zeman gave an interview to the Financial Times, Czech president takes swipe at Europe’s ‘great mice’ and it's an example of the funny events that improve my mood (which was already pretty good to start with) – a part of the reasons why I voted for him in the presidential elections. In the EU politics, there are lots of persons but almost no personalities. The persons are great mice, party apparatchiks. Zeman, a pro... more »

The public has spoken

Craig at Is the BBC biased? - 1 hour ago
It happened again. * * *Sunday Morning Live *put a question to its audience - "Do Muslim veils deepen divisions?" - and the audience gave 'the wrong answer'. Samira Ahmed said they'd had "a huge response". The result? 95% said 'yes, they do' and just 5% said 'no, they don't'. After the result was given, Samira read out four e-mails on the subject (which she'd presumably had handed to her, as she was too busy presenting the programme to have chosen them herself). They didn't reflect the result of the public vote. Two said 'yes' and two said 'no'.

Syria just committed the biggest error of the war. Assad should have never listened to the Russians. Israel won't listen to America, as Syria listened to Russia. Just watch. When international pressure is put on Israel and America to hand over Israel's WMDs to international regulators, Israel will tell the world to go to hell. Israel knows what survival means. Syria and Iran should follow Israel's path and tell the IAEA to go to hell. If these regimes want to survive, telling the IAEA to go to hell is the first and most important step. Watching the video, pre-jumpOur office was at lunch a few weeks back and someone brought up skydiving. Several at the table expressed an interest in going, so I called and set up a date and time for two weeks later. I figured, if we did not set it up, it would never happen, and if it was too far off, people would chicken out and not go. So, it was scheduled at Skydive Tecumseh for a Sunday in September. It ended up being myself, Lauren from the office and Jennifer (Kory's girlfriend). We were scheduled to show up at 1145 to start our journey. Got a call that morning from the... more »

A few quick notes

Today I have just a few quick notes to make... *First*, some of you may have already seen *this story*, but I'd like to highlight it here. What an absolute disgrace - "freedom" and "equality" in America means being free to be a pervert and sexual deviant, and have your behavior and "lifestyle" elevated and glorified by the Jewish-controlled mass media. I hope parents are paying attention. Is this acceptable to you? *Yahoo News* reports: In what is being described as the first known event of its kind, *a transgendered teen was named as her high school’s homecoming queen* on Friday.... more »

Big Banks Ready for Next Bang-Up (Bail Out)? The Design for Being Poor in the Land of Plenty and What the Crazies Have In Mind for US

It's the weekend! Time for visiting all the lit venues for the latest on what's being written that's elucidating and fun (intellectually stimulating, anyway). I'm currently reading Bob Shacochis' latest world-shaker, with Pyncheon's and Leibovich's in the queue. I saw the one below earlier today and thought it deserved some serious comment as I've been wondering for years when someone would

America has never been a friend of liberty. America is a scoundrel. America is a deadbeat nation. America backs al-Qaeda and Jihadist terrorism in Syria and around the world. May God's vengeance strike down this tyrannical and criminal nation and leave it exposed to disease, economic collapse, mass shootings, civil war, urban riots, infrastructure meltdown, and a thousand other evils under the sky.

AUSTRALIA: THE NEW RIGHT AND THE END OF TRANSPARENT GOVERNMENT

For all the foibles and weaknesses of the previous Labor government, what with its leadership issues and struggles to govern with the help of the Greens and independents, at least the Australian people knew what was going on as the two sides of the media, Murdoch’s right-wing hard copy and online news resources on one side, and the centrist and left-of-centre Fairfax hard copy and online news resources and ABC media on the other side, gave a running commentary which the Labor government under both recent leaders were always willing to respond to. I don't know about not mattering, but I'm certainly on the side of those who believe the House CR was a maneuver to avoid a government shutdown, not a step on the way to one. I guess we'll see. But as I said, there sure is a lot to talk about here. What do you have? What do you think mattered this week?

bob somerby at the daily howler - 1 day ago
*SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2013* *What bad reporting looks like:* Thirteen people were shot in a single incident in Chicago on Thursday night. Reading Monica Davey’s report in today’s New York Times, it occurred to us that this is what bad reporting looks like: DAVEY (9/21/13): The attack, which took place during a pickup basketball game, was the latest flare-up of street violence that has confounded city leaders. *Chicago had more than 500 homicides in 2012—more than any other city in the nation and about 80 more than New York, which has three times as many people. * Most of the vio... more »

Whistleblower: HSBC Still Laundering Money for Terrorists, Drug Cartels

[image: Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...] *Big banks are apparently too big to jail, even when they bankroll terrorists and drug cartels, while regular people fill the prisons in the world’s largest drug population for mostly non-violent drug offenses.* Aaron Dykes As a former Anti-Money Laundering Officer at HSBC, Everett Stern was arguably never actually supposed to catch money laundering activity. Instead, with little training but an inclination to make a difference, Stern caught massive levels of fraud, and contacted CIA and FBI officials in the summer of 2010 t...more »

Republican Priorities

jurassicpork at Welcome Back to Pottersville - 1 day ago
Last Wednesday, the *National Review*, the infamous right wing publication founded by the late William F. Buckley, quoted Georgia Congressman Phil Gingrey as saying that Capitol aides “may be 33 years old now and not making a lot of money. But in a few years they can just go to K Street and make $500,000 a year. Meanwhile I’m stuck here making $172,000 a year.” This statement, which apparently was just tossed out by the NR's Jonathan Strong as a matter of fact, shows what a fundamental disconnect there is in the typical Republican mind. You may or may not remember Gingrey ... more »

Hysteria: Virginia Student Sent Home for Wearing Duck Dynasty T-shirt That “Implies Violence”

noreply@blogger.com (Mark Daniels) at Global Political Awakening - 1 day ago
[image: Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...] Kimberly Paxton You know that the priorities are really messed up when we are being led off a cliff by the insane warmongers in Washington, when half the residents of the country can’t feed themselves without government assistance, where the middle class is dying a slow and painful death at the hands of deliberate saboteurs in our own government, and when kids need armed escorts to get to school safely in our inner cities, but the big line in the sand that gets a kid sent home from school is wearing a Duck Dynasty t-shirt. Man produces beer in his guts

LeDaro at LeDaro - 1 day ago
It is an interesting story. An unusual illness. Drunk without drinking. *Having a beer gut took on a new meaning * *for a Texas man studied by U.S. researchers, * *who found that his overgrowth of yeast in his body * *was making him drunk because he was brewing * *beer from within. (Rick Rycroft/Associated Press* *"The man was found to have a blood alcohol level of .37, five times the legal limit in Texas. Medical staff assumed he was inebriated, but the man insisted he hadn’t had one drop of alcohol all day. They were also told he had spent the past five years with bouts of intoxicat... more »

Yet more evidence that #highered is as gutless as it comes

Chalk Face, PhD at @ THE CHALK FACE - 1 day ago
Can an animal survive without a gut? I mean, perhaps a zombie, leaching off its own filth to survive, part of a nameless, nearly faceless horde hunting for their next hunk of gray matter. Did I spoil your breakfast? In my hometown of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, a private and religious institution, is getting some attention […]
