Assad: "We're Not Social Media Government, We Are The Government That Deal With Reality"
"How can you talk about what happened if you don’t have evidences? We’re
not like the American administration. We’re not social media administration
or government. We are the government that deal with reality." - Syrian
President Bashar al-Assad, from his interview with CBS (Cultivating
Bullshit) host Charlie Rose. (*Source*).
Good way to put it.
The Obama administration is relying on social media for its intelligence
gathering in Syria. It's fucking pathetic. A huge empire is using faked
YouTube videos to defend its case of why it is threatening Syria and why it
must be attacked.

Republicans in disarray
I'll probably rot in hell for taking such untoward pleasure in watching the meltdown
of Boehner's House of Dysfunction. The establishment GOPers empowered the
crackpots in order to gain a majority. Clearly it didn't go quite the way

Lazy crazy days of Summers
Well. On top of having averted an air strike by the US and another chemical
weapons strike by Assad inside of Syria this week, here's more good news
from inside the Beltway.
Former White House economic adviser and Treasury secretary Lawrence H.
Summers has withdrawn his name as a candidate for Federal Reserve
chairman...
I couldn't be happier. He would have been a disaster in that spot. Of
course, I don't suppose we'll get Janet Yellen either. Certainly not if President
Obama really believes the banking industry is just fine. It's not. It's
still very much broken.

It’s often the case that, despite countless warnings from those considered

The other day a Democrat who I respect and admire had a staffer call me and

I Have To Stop Mixing Up Natalie Merchant And Natalie Tennant-- Until The Latter Proves She's As Worthwhile As The Former
A couple of weeks ago the *Charleston Daily Mail* speculated that if West
Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant enters the race for the open
Senate seat, the Democrats will have a chance to hold onto it. Citing a
telephone survey, they said Republican Shelley Moore Capito got the thumbs
up from 45% of the voters and Tennant from 40% (which is within the margin
of error), with 15% unsure. Yesterday it became clear that Tennant will be
running, probably officially announcing her candidacy Tuesday.
The Republicans are already trying to paint her as a raging liberal. The

On Ed Miliband's "Weakness"
Riddle me this. There is a man who ducks every serious fight, is running
scared of backbench rebellions and right royally screwed up a pivotal
moment of his political career at the very moment the world was watching.
There is another man who launched himself into the front rank of politics
by disregarding the ambition of his elder brother, and has since stood up
to the media mogul British politicians have, for generations, genuflected
to, and is setting about re-establishing the relationship his party has
with its traditional funders. By any measure, regardless of the politics

Mining the Data
Alan at *Biased BBC* caught a rather striking example of a certain way of

Would you like to do to the arms industry what people say Mrs Thatcher did
to the coal mining industry, would you like to phase it out and close it
down?
Alan describes this as a "schoolboy error" on Nicky Campbell's part, and
presents the data to support it.

Two days ago, September 11th, was 40th anniversary of the coup in Chile that overthrew the democratically elected Allende government. This coup has long been known to have been orcestrated by Henry Kissinger, including the murder of a journalist, Charles Horman, who was going to expose the truth that the U.S. already had "boots on the ground." Was it a coincidence, or something more sinister, that on the very day of this anniversary John Kerry was getting advice from Kissinger, the war criminal.
