The Eurozone experiment in austerity continues to fail as the peripheral
countries endure ongoing cuts. Following up on my post of August 15, it's
time to look at the most recent Irish immigration data to update it through
April 2013 (Ireland records population data from May 1 to April 30) and see
how it affects the reported unemployment rate. The picture remains ugly,
with emigration climbing once again, from 87,100 in 2011-2012 to 89,000 in

week means we're going to get something that this Congress has managed to
put off so far: outrageous hype over a special election.
All House elections are important, and this Tampa-area one will be in one

Maine is a beautiful state to walk through. Water, mountains, trees,
farms, poverty, and interesting people.
One of my favorite moments on the walk was along the narrow rural Highway 2
from Skowhegan to Farmington. (On this route truckers often blasted their

CNN's latest polling was all bad news for the Republican Party, but in a
general kind of way. The PPP/MoveOn district-by-district polls released
this morning, though, are what terrorizes the hostage takers and cowards in
the GOP who just cost tax-payers $24 billion with their right-wing temper

making is that shutdowns are the result of a deliberate strategy, not the
