Ahhh Valentine's Day ... that romantic celebration where we pamper our
loved ones with special treats. As with most of our celebrations,
Valentine's Day is often filled with less than Eco-friendly items ... huge
boxes of candy with a lot of excess packaging, cards which end up in the
trash bin, non-organic flowers and even jewelry containing materials which
are mined from the earth. In truth, it doesn't seem very loving to exchange
gifts which hurt our environment. So let's examine some common Valentine's

Who Has The Guts To Run Against Chris Christie? Meet Barbara Buono

Invisible Enslavement
The whole notion of freedom can exist only in the contrast of slavery. Without
slavery, freedom would not be necessary. This is the duality in which
we’ve chosen to live. It is a time when we will realize and understand
what it means to be free because we have not been – and we know that now.
The slavery system we’ve been in is brilliant; so subtle as to be
invisible. Visible now, we realize with each revelation just how deep the
enslavement is embedded. It is part of our language, our customs, and our
thought process. We grow up striving to make “more” money so that ... more »

Mainzeal is a symptom of a larger problem
When a large builder like Mainzeal falls over it causes a bigger splash
than all the other smaller builders that have quietly retired, gone under,
or moved their assets to Queensland—but the causes of their collapse is the
same.
Questioners have been asking this morning how it could happen just when
rebuilding in Christchurch is just about to start? How it could happen
when Auckland has a serious housing affordability problem, and a severe
shortage of starter homes.
Let me venture a guess.
This is partly due to some poor management, as Brian Gaynor and others have

How long did people have to wait in line to vote last November!
*WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2013*

Two apparent examples emerged in yesterday’s New York Times. Among several

First, a very important topic—the length of time various people had to wait

people had to wait as long as eight hours before they were able to vote.
Obviously, that’s insane—an insult to our democracy.

Is This The Beginning Of A Horrifying Stock Market Crash In Europe?

Are we witnessing the start of a historic financial meltdown in Europe? In
recent days, two massive corruption scandals have greatly shaken confidence
in European financial markets. The first involves Spanish Prime Minister
Mariano Rajoy. It is being alleged that he has been receiving illegal cash

day. The second is a derivatives scandal at the third largest bank in
Italy.

Virginia Senate committee backs two-year moratorium on government and law enforcement drones
Madison Ruppert, *Contributor*
According to reports, a Virginia Senate committee has approved a two-year
moratorium on drone use by both law enforcement and government agencies as drones
continue to be used in the U.S. and will be used abroad indefinitely.
This move is especially interesting given that the Governor of Virginia Bob
McDonnell called drone use in the state“great” and “the right thing to do,” citing
the supposed success of drones in warzones.
While it might be somewhat surprising, there is currently a legislative
push against the unrestricted use of drones at both... more »

Some legal supporters of the pipeline in Alberta are arguing that the

federal government under sections 91(29) and 92(10)a of the Constitution

This suggests a possible legal strategy for the Harper government — to
