*Dr. Martin Luther King waves to supporters on the Mall in *
*Washington D.C., August 28, 1963*
As America marks the 50th anniversary of a landmark speech delivered by Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr, it’s fitting to ask the most important question: has
the ‘dream’ of a just society built upon a foundation of morality and
equality actually been fulfilled?
Or is it merely a collective delusion that all must accept?
Dr. King stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC,
before the assembled masses on that summer day in 1963 as the United States

Video on the CIA funding and manipulation of the U.S. news media.
Operation Mockingbird was a secret Central Intelligence Agency campaign to
influence domestic and foreign media beginning in the 1950s.
According to the Congress report published in 1976:
“The CIA currently maintains a network of several hundred foreign
individuals around the world who provide intelligence for the CIA and at
times attempt to influence opinion through the use of covert propaganda.
These individuals provide the CIA with direct access to a large number of

Making Duffy An Enemy
John Ivison compares Senator Mike Duffy to Kevin Spacey's character in the

Armed intervention in Syria by the U.S. is an appallingly stupid idea.
I oppose any U.S. military intervention in Syria.
Yes, some people were killed with chemical weapons, but are their deaths

A bullet in the guts, or Sarin nerve gas, does it matter?
It matters to propagandists who want to push the country into another war

America At The Economic Crossroads: The Second Gilded Age Must End
By Manifesto Joe
In 2013, America stands at the economic crossroads more starkly than
perhaps ever before. The federal budget deficit, though reduced, remains
staggeringly high. Two-thirds of U.S. corporations pay no federal income
tax, and they employ armies of lawyers and CPAs, plus own scores of
lawmakers through campaign contributions, to make sure things stay that
way. Their well-paid mouthpieces tell us things can't really be any other
way, that we can't be competitive by going back to an arrangement in which
corporations paid 39% of the IRS take (Barlett and Steele, citing IR... more »

In the New York Times yesterday, Northwestern University political

automatically justify armed intervention by the United States… Syria is a

Republicans' "Market-Oriented" Health Care Reforms Won't Work, Part 2
Last time we examined a common conservative "solution" to the country's
