In a new study published recently, plants were found to communicate with each other using underground vibrations (sound waves) to help show other plants their presence and alert them to predators.

Plants have also been found to communicate using scent as well, by emitting specific chemicals while under attack from pests, which alarm other plants in the vicinity to start preparing their defenses.

E. Warren is driving the big banks nuts. Today, she introduced her first bill which would require the Fed to give the same interest rates to college students that they give to the banks 0.75 percent.

How can the federal government justify charging students nearly 7 percent for loans when banks can get federal funds virtually interest-free (the Fed discount window rate is currently 0.75%)?

Senator Elizabeth Warren argued on the floor of the Senate today that it's unjustifiable. Her first bill would allow students with Stafford loans to pay the same rate as banks for a year starting July 1st. http://demos.io/18YNMcB

After years of repeated reports of sexual assaults — and years of promises to prevent them, and then years of studies and commissions to find the best way of doing so — a Defense Department study released Tuesday estimates that some 26,000 people in the military were sexually assaulted in the last fiscal year, up from about 19,000 the year before. Moreover, it turns out the Air Force lieutenant colonel in charge of preventing sexual assault has been arrested for … sexual assault. According to the police report, a drunken Lt. Col. Jeff Krusinski allegedly approached a woman in a parking lot in Arlington, Va. Sunday night, and grabbed her breasts and buttocks.

I don’t mean to be critical. Our military leaders have a lot on their minds. But perhaps the Air Force or the Defense Department could do a better job remedying this problem.

Speaking of which, the Air Force has just removed from duty seventeen launch officers at the Minot nuclear missile base in North Dakota — one of three bases responsible for controlling, and, if necessary, launching, strategic nuclear missiles — for violating weapons safety rules. The base commander characterized their negligence as “rot.” One officer was found to have intentionally broken a safety rule that could have compromised the secret codes enabling missiles to be launched.

I'm sure further steps will be taken to prevent one of our missiles from accidentally causing a nuclear holocaust. But I hope the Air Force does a better job guarding our missiles than it’s done preventing sexual assaults.

Our official Youtube channel we use to host important videos as our main social media hub, with over 4 million hits featuring protest videos, encouraging public speaking, charter rights and freedoms violations, was removed in its entirety. Our videos have been featured in multiple media and university publications and have been linked to far and wide having a major impact on people waking up to the crimes of our current rogue government under Stephen Harper and the elite he takes his orders from. This Censorship is a direct result of the Harper government’s influence on silencing political dissent in what used to be a great nation.

As a result of silencing critiques of the Canadian government and the corporations they are in partnership with we are quickly heading into an Orwellian world. Other important speakers are also being muzzled by this Harper government. The Harper government is cracking down on charitable organizations such as the one that David Suzuki started. Harper now also wants to control the CBC and make it state sponsored propaganda television. Our Canadian scientists have been silenced. Artists, librarians and archivists have been muzzled. Parks Canada employees have been told not to criticize the government. Currently, 9 conservative MP's have been silenced from within their own party, and even the RCMP was recently reported by the media as being muzzled.

The Harper onslaught is taking its toll which is plain to see for anyone paying attention which requires going around the corporate controlled mainstream media and following alternative media such as what Occupy Canada has been providing. However this is in direct threat of being silenced. Further to this Derek Soberal, founder of Occupy Canada, is being bullied with trumped up charges he accrued while organizing and filming public gatherings.

We don't know whether we can continue posting everyday as we have since 2011 as we need to take time for ourselves to re-group. An on-going court case on trumped up charges have also muzzled from disseminating news and information daily. This is not the first time he's been targeted for organizing or filming protests. Canadians are being muzzled, freedom of speech is under attack, censorship is happening, WAKE UP! speak out while you still can.
