China Rebukes North Korea - Says No State Should Sow Chaos

By Ben Blanchard and Jane Chung
BEIJING/SEOUL | Sun Apr 7, 2013 7:58pm EDT

(Reuters) -* China's leaders issued thinly veiled rebukes to North
Koreafor raising regional tensions, with the president saying no country
should
throw the world into chaos and the foreign minister warning that Beijing
would not allow mischief on its doorstep. **The weekend comments were
the
strongest yet by China in response to more than a month of North Korean
rhetoric that has included threats to launch a nuclear attack on the
United
States and to wage war with Seoul.*

Do Progressives Vote To Abolish The Estate Tax? I Asked Feinstein And Boxer
Feinstein is 79 & Boxer is 72-- time to step aside for younger leaders?
In the run-up to a vote on the Senate budget on March 23, dozens and dozens
of pointless, ideological amendments were offered late into the night. I
recall Jim Inhofe offering some kooky black helicopter amendment about the UN
coming to take away our guns after 4 AM as the whole absurd process was
finally winding down. Earlier in the evening, however, North Dakota and
Virginia corporate whores John Thune and Mark Warner offered separate
amendments to repeal the estate tax. Thune's was more radical and it failed

THE GOLAN HEIGHTS: A NEW FRONT LINE AGAINST ISRAELI EXPANSIONISM?
I mentioned over a year ago that the civil war in Syria was likely to spill
into the Golan Heights, Syrian territory seized by Israel in the Six Day
War of 1967, and now it seems that the prospect of that is fast becoming a
reality.
The question, then, is: Why do the Israelis support the Syrian opposition
in their fight against Syrian President Bashir al-Assad when it has been
al-Assad that has continued to provide some semblance of security to Israel
in the Golan Heights? Sure, it can be argued that Israel is dead set
against al-Assad because of his support for Hezbollah in Lebanon... more »

What do you mean, ‘give back’?

The Florida Republican Party moved to shore up Ileana Ros-Lehtinen's shaky

Defending Democracy in Canada
If we don't take steps to defend democracy in Canada we may face a huge
struggle to salvage it in the future. There's a price to be paid for

Look at the United States of America for example. Democracy there has

On the Fitch Ratings Upgrade

Fitch Ratings’ upgrade of the Philippine economy from non-investment grade

For starters, there are three other investment grade status that the
Philippine economy and Philippine-based companies can aspire to reach: A,
AA and AAA, with the latter as the most stable, most reliable status. There
are intermediates of +/- between these grades, like A-, A, A+.

Infrastructure
Haiti's Infrastructure
I just love the word "infrastructure". We all love to talk about Haiti's
infrastructure.
Merriam-Webster defines infrastructure as: The underlying foundation or
basic framework (as of a system or organization).
The infrastructure in the picture above is in LaPlaine. This depicts
Haiti's infrastructure pretty well.
And this infrastructure looked like this before the earthquake of 2012.
Nothing has changed about this infrastructure except possibly the cow.
Haitians raise their families on this infrastructure. And they wa... more »
The New Abolitionists
Offered on Thursday at Arne Duncan's workplace:
Testing Abolitionists
We are engaged in a struggle to abolish high stakes standardized tests and
to bring back local public control to a public school system that serves
the needs of all children who choose it. Resistance is growing among
teachers, parents, students, legislators, and unions (at least in
Chicago). And though our numbers are still thin and our voices, perhaps,
muted and our sprouting resistance sometimes subverted and coopted, that
does not keep our actions from advancing, nor does it diminish the
rightness of our caus... more »
Any Other Church Acting Like This Would Have Been Bulldozed to the Ground Long Ago

As the Cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church met in conclave in the
Vatican to select a new pope, 62-year old Scot, Pat McEwan, related how his
parish priest raped him when he was just eight years old.

Damned Lies and Statistics
"There are lies, damned lies and statistics," Sam Clemans said. The Harper
government has done its best to undermine Canada's statistical database.
But, occasionally, it still likes to use them. The devil, however, is
always in the way they are used. In a recent article in the Literary Review
of Canada, George Fallis wrote:
It is said that Canada has a severe and growing problem of income
inequality — the rich get richer while the poor get poorer and the middle
class struggles to stay even. The picture is not accurate.”
In response, Carol Goar wrote in the *Toronto Star*:

Real ethnic cleansing in the Middle East

Jews have lived in Hebron almost continuously throughout

remainder forced to flee — that the city became temporari... more »
Etzioni Explains How Beltway Conseratives Rule America

'Secret law' storm as police chiefs ban public from knowing who they arrest: Shock new blanket ban in the wake of Leveson report angers civil liberty groups who condemn threat to democracy | Mail Online
'Britain's police chiefs are drawing up draconian rules under which the
identities of people they arrest will be kept secret from the public.
The move, which follows a recommendation by Lord Justice Leveson in his
report into press standards, has been branded an attack on open justice and
has led to comparisons with police states such as North Korea and Zimbabwe.
Under current arrangements, police release basic details of a person
arrested and in many cases will confirm a name to journalists. But the
practice varies from force to force.

Surrealist Sunday.
For a moment I thought it was April Fool’s day all over again when in fact
I was hearing a surreal edition of Sunday. Nothing about the Pope (maybe I
missed it) and nothing about the Jews (well only a passing mention).
The topic was ‘grooming’, featuring the Pollyanna of the MCB, Sheikh
Ibrahim Mogra.
It got off to a good start when the good Sheikh nearly got away with
mumbling ‘the nine men who were convicted happened to be from our
community.’

The Lizards Behind the Curtain
One of the most surprising twists for me was learning about the existence
of the immortals and divines that operate on this planet. Its not a
subject much discussed either in light worker circles or among the
conspiracy theorists.
There's some asians that live extraordinary long lives. They seem to be the
one who have the gold deposits. Hints of this have come from Fulford,
Keenan, Drake, and Heather confirmed. One patriarch is said to be 5000
years old, and the elite bankers call him "the old man". We call these
"immortals" because for all practical purpose they are.

Vulture Banking Meets Its Maker

My search for understanding the banking system began as quite a young man.
My high school years were rather unspectacular. I thought I was not too
bright, after all my grades were Bs and Cs, and that report card meant to
me and my parents that I wasn't that bright. Throw in slight case of
undiagnosed dyslexia and I convinced myself I was none too bright. My
limits were set low. What I really was in high school, was bored and

The psychiatric community errs in treating visionary experience as a form
of mental illness, says Jungian psychotherapist John Weir Perry, M.D.. The
late Dr. Perry was the author of many books including The Heart of History
and The Far Side of Madness. He suggests that psychiatric labelling and the
use of anti-psychotic drugs serve to stifle the valuable integration of
life's mythic dimensions.
Can Our National Parks be Saved from Mining?

The story of the assault on Theodore Roosevelt National Park is only one
example of how energy development and land conservation are out of balance
on our public lands. Over the past four years, the Obama administration has
leased two-and-a-half times more acres of public lands to oil and gas

administration to put policies that protect and conserve our public lands
and national parks for future generations on equal ground with policies
that promote more oil and gas drill... more »

Obama is promising $100 million (as he goes after Social Security and
