"Free" Trade-- Another Way For Conservatives To Undermine Democracy
In the closing to his brilliant book, The Fifteen Biggest Lies About The

they believe in “free trade” until someone else gets a comparative
advantage, and then their hypocrisy emerges and they become fierce

Did Patriot’s Day provide motivation?
*TUESDAY, APRIL 16, 2013*
*Past journalism concerning this topic:* Patriot’s Day has always been fun
in Boston, in part because of the annual 11 AM start to the Red Sox game. We're
fairly sure we remember this outing from 1968.
Having mentioned this fact yesterday, we’ll offer a musing today:
Obviously, we have no idea about the motivation for yesterday’s bombings.
But yesterday, as some people assumed that the bombings must have come from
a foreign source, we found ourselves wondering about a famous domestic
bomber:
In the past, haven’t some journalists said that Timothy McVeigh ... more »

The American People and Conservative Republicans Agree - Legalizing Pot Is a State Right
Some of the most conservative Republicans in Congress are leading the
charge to end their federal government's war on pot. They introduced a
bill, the Respect State Marijuana Laws Act, in the House last week. The
legislation would mean the feds would have to accept state laws that
legalize or decriminalize production or possession of marijuana.
*Depending on the state, the legislation would cover both medical marijuana

cannabis, but also the businesses that cultivate, process, distribute and

Yes we have a problem. The good news is that energy technology is on the
road to make all reactors obsolete everywhere even if we are still building

The flaw is that we simply opted for too large systems that we have been
unable to properly shut down and dismantle when hit with an accident or
even decommissioned.
I think that the best available solution is to produce small thorium based
liquid salt reactors and deploy as many as the market can absorb even as

Decadal Climate Change Driven by South Polar Sea?

centuries here to a few centuries there and be almost random but be still
clearly decisive. Because of our short data streams, we cannot predict much

Panspermia follows from Moore's law
Just several years ago, when this blog already existed, I got converted to

The BBC at it again
'Before the offensive, Israel had repeatedly carried out air strikes on
Gaza as Palestinian militants fired rockets across the border.'
This is the last line of this BBC article about the Dalou family deaths.
Isn't it lovely how the BBC put Israel's actions before those of the
'Palestinian militants', subtly suggesting that Israel initiated the
exchanges. It also suggests that whilst the action from the Palestinian
side is taken by only 'militants', the whole of Israel is participating in
the Israeli action.
The BBC are despicably and institutionally biased against Israel.

How Badly Will Obama's Chained CPI Error Hurt Democrats In The Midterms?
Social Security has long been the third rail of American politics. It has
generally kept Republican predators, fearful of losing their careers, at
bay. By introducing the Republicans' plan for Chained CPI, Obama has
weakened the power of the third rail. It's the worst thing he's done since
taking office. In the long run, it could well permanently tarnish the
Democratic Party brand. And in the short run, many Democrats worry it will
destroy the party in the midterms.
Although Boehner and Miss McConnell demanded that Obama include Chained CPI
in his budget proposal, the GOP immedia... more »

the alleged Jewish "Holocaust" during WWII. "Holocaust Remembrance Day"
began the evening of Sunday, April 7th and ended on the evening of Monday,

Boston Marathon False Flag Attack: Boston Black Flag!
I just finished spending this evening visiting my mother in her new digs...
During the time of that visit, we had the talmudvision on in the
background, and again and again we saw reports of the bombs that went off
during the 112th running of the famed Boston Marathon. I only needed to
take one look at what the Jewish controlled media was claiming about this
bombing to see it clearly as another false flag attack on America!
To help summarize what we are seeing so far in this latest horrendous
attack on America, I want to turn to a fellow researcher, Kenny, who writes

Dave McArtney, legend
Today’s sadness continues. I’ve just heard news that Hello Sailor’s Dave
McArtney died last night.
Shit!
Dave was one of music’s gentlemen, and one of my very favourite live musos.
Dave must have got sick of hearing this story, of how he turned me onto
music. He got it every time I saw him, if I’d had two beers or more. (That
makes it a lot of times.)
I remember once someone saying what it meant to them when Bob Marley died.
He said, “It means no more records from Bob, man.” Dave’s dead, and that
means no more records from Dave, nor gigs, chats, drink... more »
Boston Marathon bombing: One runner's story
I have to step away from the horror. I can't deal anymore but one last link
from Charlie's place to Jon Marcus who was there when the bombs exploded in
Boston. It's a somber but inspiring story.
It turns out the race was already won long before the bombs exploded. But
it's a big race. The rest of the runners would be coming in for a long time
yet. Boston Marathon isn't about winning. As Jon Marcus tells us:
For runners from around the world, the marathon is a life goal. They train
not for months, but years, to meet the daunting qualifying times. Crossing
