TEQSA's new standards and liability for higher education providers
Since 29 January 2012, higher education providers have been obliged to comply with the standards-based framework established under the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (Cth) (Act).
The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) registers and evaluates the performance of higher education providers against the Higher Education Standards Framework, including the Higher Education Threshold Standards (Threshold Standards) made on 4 January 2012.
In order to be registered and to operate as an Australian higher education provider, providers must meet and continue to meet the Threshold Standards.
