On the Serving Platter: The NEA-Teach Plus “Partnership”
I think both national teachers unions have some skewed arrangement to “seek
solidarity” by fastening themselves to privatizing groups. Perhaps such is
an adult display of grasping to belong to the “cool kids” clique. The “cool
kids” are the ones exploding with reform philanthropy money to invest in
ways to drain money from the teaching […]
THEM
It's the title of an early Joyce Carol Oates novel, possibly her best and
deserving a place in the US literary canon.
*_THEM_* depicts the chaotic lives of a family living in poverty in the
Detroit slums, from the 1930s to the 1967 riots. Oates draws a vivid
portrait of a matriarch, from self-awakening as a naive young mother nagged
by regrets at the age of sixteen, to a mature woman whose aspirations and
struggles encompass the destinies of her children battling to survive in a
perilous world fraught with violence. Poor white trash folks, before that
epithet became a thing.

Our Country Is Up To No Good Again-- This Time In Venezuela… And On Behalf Of Big Oil
You would never guess it from the U.S. media coverage but the U.S. is
making its move against the people of Venezuela, doing all it can to incite
and support a violent right-wing takeover of a legitimately elected
government of the working masses. Sure, that's the kind of thing that
scumbags like Nixon and Kissinger did. But Obama and Kerry? You bet your

from Fox-- or vice versa. Since the government of Venezuela nationalized
the oil industry, the standard of living for Venezuelan working families

The man answers politely: 'No, we don't have any corn here.'
The next day, the duck enters again and asks: 'Do you have any corn?'
Annoyed, the man answers: 'No! We don't have any corn.'
This goes on for a couple of days until finally, when the duck asks 'Do you

*“UCB Test - Huge Fukushima Cesium Level On CA Road”*
by NationOfChange
"For all the naysayers who said that Fukushima radiation wasn’t hitting the
West Coast, here’s a new one for you. UC Berkeley lab tests are now showing
high levels of cesium in cattle feed from a California dairy farm that was
sent to a lab nine months prior to the test results being received - a
long delay that suggests levels are much higher now. Then, the one
-two-punch – asphalt along a roadside in the sunny city which catches
plenty of rainfall was then measured, much more recently, and a disturbing 3579

The Planetary Deadline: From The Aquarian Passion Play - A Guest Post by Michael Brine
The Planetary Deadline - from The Aquarian Passion Play.
“If we could look down from outer space upon the Earth with clairvoyant
vision we would see the auric field of the planet as a murky ball of
seething mist and fog. We might stand aghast at beholding this great dark
cloud of subtle matter, which would evidence itself to be of a density and
thickness that indicated not only impenetrability but also those conditions
that are unfavourable to life and which make all things appear unclear and
distorted. Thus it would be appreciated that there is a pressing need for

TV Watch: " 'Mad Men' in Less Than 2 Minutes: Don Draper Edition"
*by Ken*
At last we have a date: April 13. That's when the seventh and final season
of *Mad Men* debuts on AMC. I've got so much stuff to watch now that it
will require even more juggling than I've been doing lately, but I had
already taken the precaution of ordering Blu-rays of Seasons 4 and 5 to go
with my U.K. DVD set of Seasons 1 and 2 and the U.S. DVDs of Season 3. I
guess when it comes time I'll have to bite the bullet and pay the stiff
current asking prices for Season 6.
Or . . . I can take advantage of AMC's online posting of the complete
episodes of Season 6. Meanwhile, ... more »

Sandy Hook Fraud Exposer, Wolfgang Halbig, Threatened AGAIN By Florida Law "Enforcement" (What Are The Criminals Afraid Of?)
Last week, I posted a fabulous audio link to a very important interview
conducted between Dave Gahary, of American Free Press, and Wolfgang Halbig,
school security expert and former law enforcement officer, about exposing
the truth about the Sandy Hook operation and hoax. Wolfgang Halbig brought
forward some very damaging evidence that clearly shows that the entire
"official story" behind Sandy Hook was a complete lie. It does seem that
Wolfgang Halbig has touched a few "nerves" concerning his allegations that
Sandy Hook was a complete fraud and that NOBODY DIED in that operation.... more »

RIP, Sunny John? Here's why a House floor vote on a clean minimum-wage bill should be an urgent priority
*If it works for Sunny John, it works for me.*
*by Ken*
As I've had frequent occasion to note, Howie and I tend to respond to
remarkably similar stories, and so it is that while I was still thinking
about the hoped-for suicide of Housa Speaker "Sunny John" Boehner, Howie
was already asking: "Will Boehner Commit Suicide Over The Minimum Wage? Or
Just Retire To His New Florida Condo?"
Howie is intrigued by the possibility that the Sunny John of 2014 doesn't
have to worry about maintaining his fortress-like opposition to a straight
vote on a minimum-wage increase because he doesn't e... more »
“The Psychological Mistakes People Make That Lead to Misery”
*“The Psychological Mistakes People Make That Lead to Misery”*
By Jonathan Rottenberg
“The puzzling reality is that human depression is increasing in an era when
environmental conditions are relatively benign. The average citizen in
Western society now lives longer, is less likely to starve, and enjoys
considerably greater wealth than his sixteenth-century counterpart.
Presumably these objective conditions for survival and reproduction would
cause depression rates to fall, not rise to nearly one in five citizens.
This environment-depression disconnect seems less strange when we

New Clues in Suicide of JP Morgan Banker Add to Mystery - As many will recall , there have been a rash of mysterious deaths including alleged suicides that have erupted since the end of Janaury - just as numerous commodity and forex exchange trading / fixing investigations have become quite serious. Dennis Li Junjie plunged to his death from the high rise building where he work , becoming the third JP Morgan employee to die under strange circumstances in barely 3 weeks ! But why kill oneself over alleged work stress if you were planning to leave Hong Kong and return to Canada ? Friends were not aware of any unusual issues , so this one becomes another oddity ! What did Dennis learn or what was he told before the fatal leap ? And why the silent treatment from JP Morgan --- A Third Death at JPMorgan and Another Press Lockout on Information ..... any coincidence that these odd deaths all occurred involving employees working in JP Morgan's major markets of New York , London and Hong Kong ? Those wild and crazy Mayans put down their marker that the end of the world
would occur on Dec. 21, 2012 — about two months from now. There is, of
course, some small chance that they might be right. On the other hand,
there is a very large probability that the real end of the world will occur

of collusion that would make the SC strike down the price increase and to

Yes, crashes will keep coming: History lesson: The 1929 crash led to the

Tony Bennett's Chewytrain Lands in Camden

One of the most embarrassing moments of Tony Bennett’s rein as Indiana’s
corporate school chief (and there were many) was when his partner Dale Chu

Will Boehner Commit Suicide Over The Minimum Wage? Or Just Retire To His New Florida Condo?
*Cook*'s Amy Walter penned a warning for Republicans on the minimum
wageyesterday: "when it comes to the debate over the minimum wage, there
is
more risk than reward for Republicans."
This week, a CBO analysis found that an increase in the minimum wage
from
$7.25/hr to $10.10/hr would lift 900,000 workers out of poverty and
increase wages for about 16.5 million. However, it would also "reduce
total
employment by about 500,000 workers." This comes on the heels of a CBO
report that determined that one impact of Obamacare was a reduction in
the
number of hours worked by Americans, "a... more »
