There are no moderates left in the Republican House Caucus. The "best"
you'll get is a mainstream conservative willing to stand up to Tea Party
extremism from time to time-- or a libertarian who may be good on an

everything else. Walter Jones (R-NC) is kind of a mix of the two. He is a
basic mainstream conservative with some libertarian tendencies. He also has

Egyptian Military Shuts Down Show of Egypt's Jon Stewart

Is the Egyptian military run by idiots? Do these generals even understand
where their society is heading? I was all for the coup. Morsi was raising
up a storm, calling Jews descendents of pigs and spouting aggressive
rhetoric against Ethiopia for the construction of its Renaissance Dam. The
generals quieted things down, especially with Ethiopia, so that was a good
thing. But you have to rule intelligently. And shutting down the show of a
popular talk show host who is watched by millions of young Egyptians isn't
the smart way to go forward.

Aboriginal Rights - Who Qualifies to Claim
James C Morton at Morton's Musings - 15 hours ago
The definition of who is, or is not, an aboriginal is fraught with
controversy (consider Grey Owl). That said, in Powley 2003 SCC 43 the
Supreme Court defined who may claim rights as Métis and that gives some
guidance:
*Métis Identification*
The Court did not set out a comprehensive definition of Métis for all
purposes. It did, however, set out the basic means to identify Métis
rights-holders. The Court identified three broad factors:
self-identification, ancestral connection to the historic Métis community,
and community acceptance.
