The Big Guns: NATO's 5 Deadliest Rocket Artillery Systems

Sunday morning music
I was ambushed this week by a recording of a song I'd completely forgotten - but it was a big part of my younger childhood, because my father would sing it sometimes while making repairs to our old house, tolerating my inexpert, fumble-fingered "help". I giggled then, and it's still amusing now. It's by the Serendipity Singers, and was a hit back in those days. Here are three more by the Serendipity Singers, some of which were new to me. I was amused to learn that "Beans In My Ears" was banned in Boston, apparently because too many children were doing what the song ... more »
On Wisdom and Power
If we think that someone is wise enough to conceive of something, then we must assume that he also possesses the power to create that thing. Wisdom and power go hand in hand—if a person is wise enough, then he is powerful enough. Thomas Reid makes this point in his book *Essays on the Active Powers of Man* (Essay 4, Chapter 8): Every indication of wisdom, taken from the effect, is equally an indication of power to execute what wisdom planned. And, if we have any evidence that the wisdom which formed the plan is in the man, we have the very same evidence, that the power which execut... more »
