Fusion GPS op-ed in the New York Times blows the Trump Administration talking points out of the water.
Glenn R. Simpson, founder of Fusion GPS.Courtesy of the New York Times: *Three congressional committees have heard over 21 hours of testimony from our firm, Fusion GPS. In those sessions, we toppled the far right’s conspiracy theories and explained how The Washington Free Beacon and the Clinton campaign — the Republican and Democratic funders of our Trump research — separately came to hire us in the first place. * *We walked investigators through our yearlong effort to decipher Mr. Trump’s complex business past, of which the Steele dossier is but one chapter. And we handed over o... more »

Snowmobilers rescue moose buried neck-deep in snow in western Newfoundland
The snowmobilers got to work quickly, trying to clear a path for the moose to walk out of the snow. Given the moose was exhausted and stuck, the snowmobilers were confident, albeit cautious, when approaching to dig it out. A group of snowmobilers pulled out their shovels to free a stuck moose after spotting its head sticking out of freshly fallen snow in western Newfoundland. Jonathan Anstey, who owns a snowmobile riding clinic, says he and about seven other riders were on trails near Deer Lake, N.L., on Saturday when they spotted the neck-deep moose amid the white expanse. Try apple cider vinegar and black cumin oil as your go-to salad dressing
By Dr. Mercola Vinegar, said to have been discovered around 5,000 B.C., was originally used as a food preservative. In time, a number of medicinal uses became apparent, and in the 1700s it was used to treat everything from poison ivy and croup to stomach aches and diabetes. While vinegar can be made from virtually
Vaccine Documentaries – Educate before you vaccinate

The entire East Coast needs to get ready for “Snow Bombogenesis”
We’re starting the New Year off with a bang in the form of Winter Storm Grayson. The next weather threat heading our way is a phenomenon called a “bombogenesis.” This occurs when a system’s central pressure plummets dramatically — “24 millibars or more — in 24 hours” according to Bloomberg. Basically, it’s a hurricane. A winter hurricane.
Go with your gut
By Dr. Mercola More attention than ever is being put on your gut health, and understandably so because 70 to 80 percent of your immune function resides within your gastrointestinal tract. As such, optimizing your gut microbiome is a worthwhile pursuit that will have far-reaching effects on your physical health and emotional well-being. A first important step
The return of Shah to Persia would be fun
Protests are taking place in Iran these days. They apparently started because of extremely down-to-Earth reasons: the price of food products, especially eggs, suddenly jumped. Well, dear Persians (who need some clever software to get to TRF), let me tell you that even in prosperous Europe, we saw a dramatic increase of egg prices since the summer or so. The main reason was the discovery of fipronil (an insecticide) in the eggs of Benelux. Some poultry probably had to be killed but it's pretty obvious that the *fear* that much more would have to be eradicated was the main reason why... more »
Dangers of Government Control
[image: dangers-of-government-control] How much sense does it make for us to give seven unelected people life-and-death control over our economy and hence our lives? While you're pondering that question, consider another: Should we give the government, through the FCC, control over the internet?

If you’re like too many Internet commenters responding to just such a story, you call the children ignorant brats and snowflakes and label the school puritanical for taking action against the teacher.

Summary of Jaron Lanier’s “Who Owns the Future?”
Jaron Lanier‘s recent book, Who Owns the Future? discusses the role that technology plays in both eliminating job and increasing income inequality. Early in that book, Lanier quotes from Aristotle’s Politics: “If every instrument could accomplish its own work … if … the shuttle would weave and the plectrum touch the lyre without a hand to guide them, chief workmen would not want servants, nor masters slaves.”

YEAR OF THE SPECIES: What did Hoda Kotb know?
*WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2018Part 2—The question which won't be asked:* In the earlier years of TV news, moguls were less devoted to the need for disguise. In those days, Dave Garroway was the host of NBC's Today show. As the leading authority on the show has recalled, his co-host was a chimp: Though initially panned by critics, Garroway's style attracted a large audience that enjoyed his easygoing presence early in the morning. *His familiar "cohost," a chimpanzee with the puckish name of J. Fred Muggs, did not hurt his genial manner,* but his concurrent seriousness in dealing with... more »

Many are very powerful, but may have a very small market audience. Among the unique class of very, very big handguns, the Smith & Wesson 500 packs both popularity and power in a ridiculously lethal package, with a killing power equal to high-powered rifles . . . and a recoil described as “beastly.” For years, the Smith & Wesson Model 29 handgun held the crown of the most powerful handgun in mass production. For example, fifteen helicopters unloaded at Rotterdam, ostensibly for special fitting, were then transported overland to the Soviet freighter Prorokov. The Prorokov then unloaded the helicopters in North Korea. Similarly, a freighter docked in Japan transferred two helicopters to a North Korean freighter in Hong Kong, with... more »

On October 3rd, 1956, Dirac finally wrote this important sentence. Ivanenko and his comrades appreciated the importance of the sentence so you can still see the quote on that blackboard. I... more »

ROMNEY WAS THE RICH MAN REPUBLICANS WANTED, AND SO IS TRUMP NOW

In the words of interviewer Joseph Cotto, the editor of the San Francisco Book Review: *Over the last few months, accounts of sexual abuse by powerful figures in our society have rocked American artistic, journalistic, and political life. There is a form of abuse more horrific than anything which found mainstream attention, though. Joachim Hagopian recently wrote a book -- 'Pedophilia and Empire' -- about it. The Significance of Kant’s Transcendental Deduction
Immanuel KantIn the Transcendental Deduction, Immanuel Kant’s goal is to target Humean skepticism and prove that *a priori* concepts (or categories) are objectively valid and are a necessary condition of our experience of the world. He offers his arguments for the Transcendental Deduction (and for the Refutation of Idealism) for the first time in the *Critique of Pure Reason* (1781). The transcendental arguments are also included in his two subsequent critiques: the *Critique of Practical Reason* (1788), and the *Critique of the Power of Judgment* (1790). Trump Global Counter Attack

And just what do you hope to accomplish with a child who is reading deficient? All this opened the door for a finding of anomalous behavior that could be treated with a pill. *Global Agricultural emergency Onset* This is unfortunately for us what is known as the real science. It is easy to assume that the sun's output is a constant, but it is not. It actually varies enough to throw our climate back and forth. I also note that historic cycles comparable to our recent warmer spell is often ended by a sharp dip in temperature. Thus even when i began on this topic back in 2007, my concern was with initially predicting a likely peak in the effects of the warming but also the corollary which is the dip that takes place several years later. Each of them has to by stress tested and to mature. Yet we already have a portfolio of such coins to stuff money into and prices continue to improve.
