I support land reclamation in Manila Bay. Remove those thick silt, mud,
sand, other solid wastes in river beds near the bay. Also the thick lahar
deposits in Bulacan rivers that contribute to frequent street flooding. I
am indifferent who should do the reclamation project, the important thing
is that someone should do it, soon.
There are two (or more?) proposed land reclamation projects in Manila Bay.
The Solar City project by the Manila Goldcoast Development Corp. in Manila
City area, and the SM project in Pasay City.

In Europe, high prices of commodities and services, partly due to high
taxes, discourage people from high spending. Cheap oil should encourage
them to travel more, spend more, but it seems it did not do the trick, now
the threat of deflation in the Euro area is getting higher.

at a recent environmental council that he is declaring climate change his
issue of the year. Now, as we all know, there is no climate change. If
there were, the oil barons would never soil their good names and lie about

and how a genetic mutation means that many of them are never in ketosis
even eating a very low carb diet. Basically, the mutation ensures that low
carb brain metabolism runs predominantly on glucose, not ketone bodies.
Because similar mutations are common in other populations dependent on low
carbohydrate seafood diets, it must be a valid alternative to ketone
metabolism in these populations.

There was a short series of reports on Radio 4's *Broadcasting House* last
year that I meant to blog about at the time, but (for some reason) didn't.
There were three reports in the series.
The first focused on the stories of desperate (im)migrants trying to get to
Europe via the Spanish (Gibraltar-like) enclaves on the Moroccan coast.
(There have been quite a few such reports on the BBC in the past couple of
years - Paul Mason's pieces for *Newsnight* being the ones I remember most
