Here's a different take on my prior post. After *Chadha*, Congress could have done nothing to the National Emergencies Act. Then the Act would have been unconstitutional, as there would have been a good argument that the legislative veto provision invalidated by *Chadha* was not severable from the rest of the Act. They did not narrow the scope of the Act. They did not duo nothing. They instead simply changed the le... more »

EU may have started rolling back its Brexit trade blockade plan, allow Ireland and UK to have open border
*Ireland is in a lose lose situation. If it puts up a border to the UK as the EU demands, its economy will suffer, especially if the UK becomes gridlocked. And if it doesn't, it will be ejected out of the EU customs union, and its economy will also suffer.* *But according to Ambrose Evans Pritchard, the Globalist controlled EU may be softening its stance to allow Ireland the UK to survive an economic Brexit meltdown.* *Ireland may be allowed to keep its borders open to allow for the free flow of traffic between the mainland UK and the UK region of Northern Ireland, solving the so ... more »

Globalists mull options for Federal Resere as new era dominated by China and its state run central bank dawns
*What happens when more another round of Quantitative Easing fails to reverse the recession? Asks Zerohedge rhetorically?* *To get the economy growing is simple. What Is and Isn’t a Big Deal in Trump’s Executive Actions Related to the Border
President Trump signs the declaration of national emergency (Source: @PressSec) On Feb. 15, President Trump took a number of legal steps, including declaring a national emergency and invoking emergency authorities, in connection with his efforts to construct a wall on the southern border. There are important senses in which Trump’s actions are a big deal, and important senses in which they are not nearly as big a deal as many contend. *I. Not a Big Deal* Trump’s actions have been greeted with now-familiar claims that he is sparking a constitutional crisis or threatening the rule ... more »
Judicial Deference and the Inevitable Border Emergency Litigation
Big Bend National Park (Source: Flickr/Marcus Calderon) Mindful that there is a lot of ink being spilled on the president's formal declaration of a national emergency, I am going to keep this analysis very brief, focusing on two things: first, the role that judicial deference will play in looming litigation, and second, the hints in the declaration that Trump may have his eyes on Big Bend National Park. *Judicial Deference* As expected, President Trump both invoked a national emergency and then from that foundation also invoked 10 USC § 2808—the statute that under *certain *circu... more »

A good reason to support “Brexit” is the sharp rise in antisemitism in Europe. Which is a more worrying prospect, remaining in the EU, or a Corbyn Gov’ment? Difficult one.
