LGNZ’s Alternative Funding Mechanisms Can Get Stuffed
I note councils around the country are at it again to get someone, anyone,
to pay through the nose for their borrowing and over-spending. They call
this “looking for alternative funding mechanisms.”
Basing rates on property values alone may soon no longer be sustainable as
the sole taxation form for many councils, says Local Government New Zealand
(LGNZ).
Why will basing rates on property values alone no longer be sustainable as
the sole taxation form for many councils? The answer is as simple as its
corollary conclusion is obvious: because they’re spending too damned much

(Allies Tired Yet of U.S. Lies?) Americans Blinded By Agendas? (The Truth(s) About the Boston Bombers)
The evidence is in, and it confirms what a lot of us (on the left) were
saying throughout this bloody massacre. Because as hard as it is for some
to admit it, the US is an empire in search of control of resources in order
to continue running it. And, therefore: Assad did not do it, we did it. And
everyone who is anyone knew it all along. And the constant pose as the

Easter Week: Its beginnings

To celebrate what?
Why, to celebrate spring, of course. The end of winter; the onset of new

military propaganda at sports events reaches new extremes: continuous recruitment ads at baseball games

my favourite things: friends, family, books, and baseball.
I love Fenway Park, and I'm always happy to be there. On this trip, we saw

This is not an exaggeration.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Mystery - Day 36 April 12 , 2014 .... KLUANG: The government can't confirm any reports on MAS flight MH370 unless they can be verified by the relevant authorities ....... PERTH: With no new underwater signals detected, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Saturday that the massive search for the Malaysian jet would likely continue “for a long time” as electronic transmissions from the dying black boxes were fading fast....... KUALA LUMPUR: A CREW member of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 made a desperate call from his mobile phone as the plane was flying low near Penang, the morning it went missing - The latest breakthrough in the ongoing criminal investigation traced the source of the call to co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid's phone. ( TO WARN OR TO SAY GOODBYE? MH370 co-pilot, chief stewardess made DESPERATE calls before going off radar ) ...... Wa this a hi-jack gone bad or something else ? Is there contact from the hi-jackers not revealed to date ? Note -- An email received by the Mail recently suggested that the aircraft had been hijacked and that the pilots had been ordered to fly around Malaysian and Indonesian air space while negotiations were carried out. Those negotiations, said the email - from a source in Malaysia which could not be verified - demanded the dropping of a jail sentence imposed on Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim. The hijackers, said the email, gave government negotiators five hours to meet their demands or the plane would be destroyed.

PROTEST AT BATH IRON WORKS
Video by Regis Tremblay from our protest yesterday at Bath Iron Works. We
had 100 folks from all over Maine show up.
We kept our eyes peeled for Jesus Christ but did not see him - we think it
must have been an impostor who went inside the shipyard and did the
'christening'.
I flew early this morning (Sunday) from Portland to Toronto, Canada where I
will speak tomorrow at the university. On the plane I sat next to a Navy

the 'christening' ceremony in Bath. I told him I was the person that

HC Unit theory - 30th Anniversary imminent - hadronic or quarkic?
*only the excess exists*
yes, it's been 'that long' - the 30th Anniversary of my first Hertzan
Chimera Unit dream is on its way. It's due, but I don't have a real idea
when the dream was. I didn't keep the date. However, I did 'bother' the
sci.physics.alt-new-theories with my HC Unit Theory back in 1985. So,
it would have been a short time before then that the dream took place.
Maybe 2015 would be the year of the 30th...
But it doesn't matter.

A New Urban Organic Farming Method in St- Paul, Minnesota
[image: Foto: Meet Urban Organic Farm - a one acre farm in a 50,000 sq. ft.
abandoned brewery in St. Paul, Minnesota. The farm uses aquaponics and
grows fresh, organic produce year round. The plants are grown in water that
gets its nutrients from fish. The waste from fish is pumped to the plants,
the plants' roots are suspended in the water and filter out the nutrients
from the fish, and the water is filtered one more time and put back in the
fish tank. The farm's first harvest consists of tilapia and five kinds of
produce: green kale, red kale, Swiss chard, parsley and cilantro. As... more »

*Liberals focus on happy thoughts? Really?*
*The article criticized below goes back to research by John Hibbing.
Hibbing is an expert at applying derogatory names to highly ambiguous
stimuli. His research amounts to little else. Changes in skin
conductance, for instance, could mean many things but Hibbing always
manages to label such changes in a way that is derogatory to
conservatives. He certainly does show some physiological differences between
liberals and conservatives but ALL the differences he describes could much
less imaginatively be described as showing simply that c... more »
Stanislaw Ulam: 105th birthday

Stanislaw Ulam was born in Lviv, Galicia, on April 13th, 1909. His broader

The Death of Democracy in Canada. The Death of James Michael Flaherty
*The Death of Democracy in Canada. The Death of James Michael Flaherty*
Written by Robin Mathews
For the Canadians increasingly convinced that all conventional politicians
are betraying Canadian democracy, the death of James Michael Flaherty
underscores their position. The response to his death by federal (and
other) parliamentarians and politicians says it all. The praise of a major
actor in the betrayal and deception of Canada and of all Canadians reaches
across the parties in the House of Commons (and across the country) without
interruption.

Disenfranchising America-- What Is Obama Going To Do About It? BONUS: The Gay Agenda Revealed
It's not exactly news-- at least not to anyone who reads *DWT*-- but
Friday, President Obama accused the Republicans of undermining democracy by pushing
disenfranchisement legislation in several states where they have managed to
win control. He came right out and accused them of reacting to a fake
problem with a blatantly political tactic. That's pretty heavy stuff coming
from a POTUS. And, at least in my book, that makes him obligated to do
something about it. If he wants to acknowledge that the GOP is "trying to

In the light of the staged MH370 crash scene in the Indian Ocean, thousands
of miles away from the real crash scene in South China Sea, is history
repeating itself? Judge for yourself.
Could the “grounding and high speed head-on collision” involving the USS

Blowback question of the day: Are teachers also ceding control of their profession to parents?

April 12:When the real headline is the bottom line.
There's a curious story that gets a banner headline on page of today's
TandT. "B.B changes handling of young offenders"
It tells how young offenders have been held in open custody homes in or
within reach of their communities. It also says these have been quite
successful. But now it is moving to a quite remote facility.
The province's child and youth advocate says it doesn't sound like a good
idea, and he'd like to hear what the motivation is. He points out that such
a remote ,"closed" custody is contrary to the advice of the law, itself.
As I read the story, I grew impatient with ... more »
"2014 is shaping up as a year of reckoning for the United States. One of two things will happen: Either the US dollar will be abandoned and collapse in value, thus ending Washington's superpower status and Washington's threat to world peace, or Washington will lead its puppets into military conflict with Russia and China. The outcome of such a war would be far more devastating than the collapse of the US dollar." -- Paul Craig Roberts

By most quantitative criteria, James Cameron is the world's most successful

Musings On Iraq In The News

France in 2014, will it be the UK in 2016?
Will Ed Miliband become the British Francois François Hollande? I think
it's quite likely, after all in 2012 we were told that Ed Miliband had
agreed to work with the new Socialist President of France to “tilt” Europe
away from austerity. How'd that work out? France marooned with high taxation
and a stagnant economy - just what you'd expect with a Socialist
government. Meanwhile the UK has, relatively, lower taxation, much better
growth and if it wasn't for the Lib Dems and a liberal Prime Minister the
situation could be even better.
