Liberal Democracy: The Bedfellow Of FascismAntifascism, as a politic and concept, has grown more appealing in the last 6 years because of the rise of right-wing authoritarianism domestically and globally rooted in patriarchy and ongoing (settler) colonialism. Nonetheless, there remains much confusion about fascism. Earlier this month, I was a featured panelist for a roundtable discussion with the editors of For Antifascist Futures: Against the Violence of Imperial Crisis and author of On Microfascism: Gender War and Death at the Red Emma’s bookstore in Baltimore. U.S. Federal Interest Payments Will Exceed The Pentagon Budget By 2025*CNN:* *US debt: Federal interest payments could soon exceed military spending* New York CNN Business — The Federal Reserve’s war on inflation isn’t just painful for home buyers and people with credit card debt. Uncle Sam is getting squeezed by higher borrowing costs, too. The cost to finance America’s growing mountain of debt is rising rapidly as the Fed scrambles to put out the inflation fire by raising interest rates and shrinking its nearly $9 trillion balance sheet. During fiscal 2022 alone, the federal government made $475 billion in net interest payments, up from $352 b... read more

US Again Isolated On UN Vote Against Its Cuba BlockadeFor the 30th consecutive United Nations vote, the US again lost. A landslide margin of 185 to 2 condemned its blockade of Cuba on November 3. Only the apartheid state of Israel voted with the US, while Brazil and Ukraine abstained. Since 1960, the bipartisan policy of the US has been to overthrow the Cuban Revolution by fomenting “disenchantment and disaffection based on economic dissatisfaction and hardship.” According to the US State Department, punitive economic measures are imposed to deny “money and supplies to Cuba, to decrease monetary and real wages, to bring about hunger,... read more

Che Guevara: How the revolution icon became a brandOne photo was enough to turn the anti-capitalist into a marketer's dream. Ernesto Che Guevara is considered a symbol of courage, rebellion, protest, and informal thinking. His portraits are applied to T-shirts, mugs, lighters, beach towels, wallets, and even bikinis. Restaurants, stores, alcoholic beverages, and cigars are named after him. But behind all this, the […] read more

Red cap, green cap, white and blue capsThere it sits on my kitchen counter. The lid to a plastic milk container. Bright red. Sometimes it's a lid to one of our innumerable (or so it seems) pill containers from the pharmacy. A hard plastic--different from the bottle it closes. Much harder to recycle. After 2 years of saving them for a youth project at Lakeside to create durable outside benches, I still feel the pull. Recycling and reuse will not save the planet, but then, neither does wearing masks and closing playgrounds. God has plans for his creation, and we sometimes kid ourselves about "helping." That said, it's a goo... read more

The Digital Stasi--a term for Big Tech"Digital Stasi"--what an excellent term for our Big Tech in cahoots with the Democrat power structure. I heard it on the Buck Sexton show--he has a podcast and is co-host of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton show. I used to see him regularly on the Glenn Beck program. But, just to be sure I caught the irony, I looked it up. It turns out that those in the know use it frequently. "The Stasi was one of the most hated and feared institutions of the East German communist government." It was established in 1950 but with no specific legislation (sounds familiar) and started small. It was "re... read more
