Introducing Project Prometheus: Make the Leap to the Future; Build a 2024 MAGA Shock Wave in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan
Joe Biden and the Democrats are bragging that the Midterms resurrected the “Blue Wall,” which, B.T. (before Trump), cemented Democratic presidential and congressional victories. They think this is the path to defeating a Trump candidacy in 2024, if they fail to put him in prison as the result of the police-state measures now deployed against him and his supporters—measures worthy of Tomas de Torquemada or the Stasi of the former East Germany. read more

The Religion of the Technocrats is Failing, as is Their Technology
As I noted in my article about the demise of self-driving vehicles, the faith in artificial intelligence is crashing down to reality, as investors in the technology find out the hard way that computers just cannot do all the things that the techno-prophecies have claimed. This was exposed in a recently published Bloomberg article quite eloquently by publishing quotes from Anthony Levandowski, the engineer who created the model for self-driving vehicle research and was, for more than a decade, "the field’s biggest star." So strong was his belief in artificial intelligence, that he ... read more

Democrats kept the Senate. But Georgia is still important.
[image: Sen. Raphael Warnock Holds A Press Conference In Atlanta] Photo by Megan Varner/Getty Images A split Congress is likely, but a Warnock win would still benefit Democrats. While Democrats in the Senate may be breathing a collective sigh of relief after Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto’s win in Nevada, their slim majority would get an important boost from a Sen. Raphael Warnock win in the Georgia runoff race December 6. The ability to pass key legislation in the next two years and fill court vacancies may depend on it. Typically, the midterm elections serve as a referendum on the... read more

Self-determination: 'The atomisation of human society'
*"Self-determination, which has nothing to do with self-government but has become confused with it, is barbarous and reactionary: by sanctioning secession, it invites majorities and minorities to be intransigent and irreconcilable. It is stipulated in the principle of self-determination that they need not be compatriots because they will soon be aliens. There is no end to this atomisation of human society. Within the minorities who have seceded there will tend to appear other minorities who in their turn will wish to secede."* ~ Walter Lippmann -- who, a world-war before, had help... read more

The brilliance of billionaires is not something I've ever held with. Their backstories are usually one of generously-provided start up capital, usually from the bank of well-to-do mum and dad, luck and timing mistaken for business acumen, and more often than not big state contracts and plenty of fictitious capital. This week, for example, we've seen the aptly-named Sam Bankman-Fried's crypto currency-derived billions simply vanish - a whole lot of money that, it turned out, didn't really exist. Similarly, the same can be said for Elon Musk. Reputed to be worth over $200bn, he still... read more

"All men seek happiness. This is without exception. Whatever different means they employ, they all tend to this end. “You know, we never see the world exactly as it is. We see it as we hope it will be or we fear it might be. And we spend our lives going through a sort of modified stages of grief about that realization. And we deny it, and then we argue with it, and we despair over it. But eventually - and this is my belief - that we come to see it, not as despairing, but as vitalizing. We never see the world exactly as it is because we are how the world is.” - Maria Popova read more

Stubborn Resistance Will Confront Foreign Intervention In Haiti
In the past when the U.S. intervened in Haiti, U.S. forces and its imperialist allies had the guns, and Haitians had machetes — and the guns won. Over 200 armed groups are operating in Haiti. Some of them are engaged in kidnapping and extortion, while others are defending their neighborhoods and providing some security, something the state does not do. Road blockades are common. In Massachusetts, Unions Beat Billionaires To Pass A Tax On The Rich

When it comes to wolves, it’s not about numbers. It’s about family. A wolf is a wolf when it’s part of an intact, unexploited family group capable of astonishingly beautiful and complex cooperative behaviors and unique traditions. If a family group is left unexploited (that is, not trapped, shot, poisoned or otherwise killed by humans) it will develop extraordinary traditions for hunting, pup-rearing, and social behaviors that are finely tuned to its precise environment and that are unique to that particular long-lived family group.
