Impeachment Is Damaging America In One Nearly Forgotten Way

Daniel R. DePetris at The National Interest - 16 hours ago
*Daniel R. DePetris* *Impeachment, * Two words: Foreign policy. The Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump is one of those stories that grates the soul of the nation. The entire impeachment drama has further tribalized American politics, divided region against region, and turned civil discourse into one long, obnoxious, migraine-inducing experience. If that sounds overly dramatic, consider this: public opinion polls have barely changed over the last three months on the question of whether Trump should be removed from office. Brexit & the British Working Class

barovsky at The New Dark Age - 16 hours ago
Much has been written on Brexit, stage 1 of which occurred on 31 January. But a key point has been ignored: the UK’s departure from the European Union is due to a reactionary revolt by the British (mainly English) working class. This went against the established policy of the political elites, bourgeoisie, ruling class – call them what you want – and will lead to many problems. As such, it represents the first time in very many decades that the ‘popular will’ of a vote has contradicted capitalist business interests. However, this is no reason for socialists to be happy.

Imagine A World Without Oil

Everyone fails to recall that the best available energy storage media just happens to be oil. The miracle is that we have so much of it to burn. The truth is that we need to burn as much as possible in order to push the CO2 levels ultimately to around a 1000 ppm from the original level of 280 ppm. So what we are doing continues to work just fine. Otherwise, this item works up the absurdity of some of the alternates. Not too unlike the ultimate absurdity of steam power before we used oil. Obvious a full restoration of proscribed burns is a solid way of largely preventing all this. The Abos had that part figured out. What we also want to do is fold in mob grazing using multi species husbandry. This will power up the biome and allow the soil to retain moisture and to also knock down a lot of the fuel in a way that quickly removes it. If the ground fuel is minimized, then deep soil fires are minimized as well. Human tree husbandry is also a future prospect that also helps.. All that likely has to wait until the global population is much larger. *Australian ... more »

India isn’t capable of building an effective missile defense system, according to Chinese media. But does this reflect a problem with India – or is China trying to discourage its rival from building defenses against Beijing’s ballistic ... more »

The two countries had established their competing claims to the islands—which the Vietnamese refer to as Hoang Sa and the Chinese call Xisha—well before they came to blows.
