The Bank of England is enslaved by green groupthink
By Paul Homewood A thoughtful piece by Dellers about green groupthink. From the Spectator: I do find it odd that I’m so often having to write about the science of global warming, species extinction and ocean acidification because, though I’ve certainly acquired a pretty useful base knowledge over the years — superior, I’m […]
Musings On Iraq In The News
I was interviewed by Hollie McKay in “ISIS defeated, but not destroyed, as terror group still holds strategic swaths of Iraq” for Fox News, and by Paul Iddon in “Anticipating Mosul’s post-Islamic State future” for Al Araby, and by Paul again in "What does Turkey have to fear about Kurdish independence?" for Rudaw. Mosul Campaign Day 265 Jul 8 2017
Federal Police celebrating in west Mosul (Sky News) The news of the day was whether Mosul was finally liberated or not. The Joint Operations Command got things underway by saying that the city was free, but then added that there were small pockets of resistance. That last caveat was missed by most leading the command to issue a clarification that there were still a few meters of the city under Islamic State control. It then added that a victory announcement was imminent and that fighting would be over in a few hours. Units of the Iraqi forces (ISF) were seen celebrating in the str... more »

NATO Was So Afraid of Russian Submarines They Planned to Bomb Them with Magnets
*Steve Weintz* *Security, * ‘Floppy-magnets’ made enemy subs noisier, easier to hunt—but were too hard to train with. *The magnets worked on the Soviets with the same maddening results. Study blows ‘greenhouse theory' out of the water.
A study by Ned Nikolov Phd and Karl Zeller Phd published recently in *Environment Pollution and Climate Change* blows the 'greenhouse theory out of the water. They conclude the entire greenhouse gas theory is incorrect. Instead, the earth’s “greenhouse” effect is a function of the sun and atmospheric pressure, which results from gravity and the mass of the atmosphere, rather than the amount of greenhouse gases such as CO2 and water...more »
