John Simpson's response to "anti-BBC bores"
Ian Katz, Rob Burley and Andrew Marr appear to be attempting a charm
offensive at the moment with regards to BBC bias.
Other senior BBC journalists, however, are sticking with good old-fashioned
BBC arrogance (out with the charm, in with the offensive).
Take the BBC's World Affairs Editor John Simpson for example:

*Lawyers for The New York Times came out swinging on July 7 in Sarah
Palin's defamation lawsuit against the paper over an editorial linking her
to a mass shooting, arguing the former Alaska governor and vice
presidential candidate could not show The Times acted with actual malice. *
*Palin filed her suit against The Times last week, alleging that she was
defamed by a June 14 editorial called "America's Lethal Politics," which
she said ties her to the 2011 shooting in Tucson, Arizona, that resulted in

Triumph of the Trump? Be afraid of the manic "will"
While the president himself has probably never heard of Leni Riefenstahl,
it’s a dead certainty that the authors of his G-20 speech have watched the
Nazi propagandist director’s opus, ‘*Triumph of the Will,’* scads of times.
Chief Strategist Bannon has said so, admiringly. And hence it became a
matter of note and worry, when POTUS’s speech used the word “will” as a
meaningful noun, almost a dozen times, declaring that only great focus and
assertiveness can save western civilization.
Mind you, I have been hardly any less dramatic in my own declarations of
determination to defend our... more »

"Even CNN struggles to stay solemn, neither laughing nor vomiting, at news
of Congress creating a new branch of the U.S. military to fight wars in
space. Of course, one purpose of militarizing space, which other nations
have long supported banning by treaty, has for the United States long been
to facilitate more unstoppable attacks on various corners of the little
planet earth. But another stated purpose of this legislation is to “guard

CNN is on the fast track to losing what little is left of its credibility.
In a perfect storm of embarrassing revelations, retractions,
“resignations," and missteps that would make the Three Stooges look
coordinated by comparison, the network is poised for self-destruction.
Rather than taking a step back to evaluate and adjust course, CNN is
doubling down on its stock-in-trade: fake news, fake news, and more fake
news.
