Is the president inciting violence against journalists? CNN commentator and Republican strategist Ana Navarro on Sunday said President Donald Trump “is inciting violence against the free press” by railing against the media. On ABC News’ “This Week,” Navarro said Trump’s Sunday morning tweet of a video of himself attacking a figure with CNN’s logo superimposed on their face was “unacceptable.” “I think that is the President of the United States taking things way too far. It is an incitement to violence. He is going to get somebody killed in the media,” she said. “Maybe that will sto... more »
EPS 2017: 1000 Physicists In Venice
The 2017 edition of the European Physical Society conference will take place in the Lido of Venice this week, from July 5th to 12th. For the first time in many years -30 as of now- a big international conference in HEP is organized in Italy, a datum I found surprising at first. When I learned it, the years were 26 and I was in a local organizing committee that tried to propose another conference in the same location. Although excellent, our proposal was ditched, and from the episode I learned I should not be too surprised for the hiatus. read more

*“CNN Falls To A Little Blue Bird”* by JWMJR The President's latest Twitter storm has the poor darlings in the media are just beside themselves. They want the public to see a nearly decade old video of Trump in a staged production as an assault against the freedom of the press. Geopolitical Update
*The PRC's View* The Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 terrified Party leaders in the People's Republic of China. The scene of a man standing up and halting a column of tanks and holding the moral high ground sent leadership into a panic. By all rights, the tanks should have used his guts to grease the treads, but that's not how it happened. And that nightmare haunts them today. We Must Declare Independence
[image: undefined] As Independence Day comes around again we should spend a few moments between barbecue and fireworks to think about the meaning of independence. The colonists who rebelled against the British Crown were, among other things, unhappy about taxation. Some 241 years later, Washington claims more of our money as its own than King George could have ever imagined. What do we get in this bargain? We get a federal government larger and mor... more »

Is President Trump's Tweeting Endangering Or Empowering His Agenda? Or Both? Or Neither?
*Victor Davis Hanson, American Greatness:* *Trump’s High-Stakes Tweeting* Trump’s strongest supporters are sometimes the most anxious critics of his tweeting—not because his is a failing presidency bordering on caricature, but because it is adroitly unwinding the Obama transformation. But why, then, the need to go after failed media has-beens without an audience? Of course, tweeting commentary and news over the heads of a corrupt Washington media pack is innovative and wise—and to some degree got Trump where he is today by reinventing communications with the public. Too Many With Our Gifts Allow.....A Quotation from M.N. Hopkins
*Too many with our gifts allow ego to become the central terminal rather then the heart. Instead of using their gifts for the greatest good, they use if for personal gain. This is something to be cautious of. Do not forget that you are one of many. Each a link in a chain extending through eternity. All have been given a unique gift. Each add to the whole. Each contributes his talents. If the various talents can be combined, the power increases many times. A few can have a grand or good effect on many.* *© *M.N. Hopkins

Mysterious illness tied to marijuana use on the rise in states with legal weed
We always knew that chronic use of marijuana is a bad idea, not least because of the obvious decline in ambition. This is similar to alcohol as well and simply confirms that all drug use needs to be measured and you must be sensitive to its real effects. While not cirrhosis of the liver, this effect is still pretty negative, but not obviously fatal. You really do not want to go there. Cannabis is best understood as an effective medicine to be applied against real issues such as chronic pain. Even then it needs to be minimized and somehow switched on and off if possible..... more »

What the world of spirit presents is a serious problem in the application of language. After all the word log nicely describe a trunk of any species of tree, while saying nothing about the roots and the branches. Yet we can actually see all that. Now the spirit world cannot be seen at all unless you undertake a long difficult training and even then vision is often fuzzy. Yet that same spirit world is physically real and part of the ocean of Dark Matter we swim through. Worse, we all are spirit and our spirit information density is millions of times greater tha... more »

Kolbrin - Book of Scrolls - Chpt 31 - Marriage song
Rather interesting item. It specifically extols the one god and could apply to a newly christian community. In practice this whole mass of materiel makes no mention of serious secondary Gods and suggests that Monotheism was central to Egyptian thought as well. Certainly the Hebrew Bible says as much and this is likely source material to that. This material also does carry information from before the Pleistocene Nonconformity when an understanding of GOD would match mine. This is no Greek or Norse Mythos at all. I would like to see an open scholarly debate on all this. I s... more »
Grenfell Tower fire: No prosecutions for subletting of flats, government promises - why the hell not?
The BBC triumphantly reports that: 'Legal guidance telling prosecutors not to bring charges for subletting given the "public interest" in identifying the victims has been issued by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Alison Saunders.' I wonder how many illegal sublets were operating in Grenfell Tower. I wonder how many illegal sublets are operating across the whole country? Answers to the above questions might lead people to wonder how many illegal immigrants are living in this country, the answer probably being well above five million people.
The Value of Sports
My grandson (8) plays baseball in the Pinto League. I'm a big fan, naturally, even though it's been very warm at the games. My sense is that if he can be out there playing, I can sit in the heat, watch and cheer. My son-in-law started off on the sidelines and is now coaching the kids. I'm proud of him as well. There is a lot of parental pressure on teams to do well and it lands squarely on the shoulders of the coaches. On Sunday, July 2, they won the Southeast Region Sectional Championship. Next week, begins the final play-offs for the "World Series", which will be played in San M... more »
