Russia's MI-28NM "Superhunter" Helicopter Is Deadly. Just Ask Syria.
*Michael Peck* *, * This upgraded helicopter is decently modern and features abilities that American helicopters already have. Also, like other weapons, Russia is testing this platform out in Syria's Civil War. *Here's What You Need to Remember: *The Mi-28NM is part of Russia’s plan to modernize its attack helicopters, but much of its new technology is commonplace for Western helicopters. Prowling the skies of Syria is the “Night Superhunter.” It’s not a comic book superhero, but the newest Russian attack helicopter. *This first appeared in 2019 and is being reposted due to re... read more
Is the Pentagon Prepared for Lethal Robotic Weapons Systems Unconstrained by Ethics?
*Kris Osborn* *military, Americas* This could put U.S. forces at a disadvantage. Weaponized artificial intelligence (AI) capability, is an ominous-sounding term Pentagon leaders use to explain the serious and growing risks presented by technologically advanced adversaries increasingly capable of building artificial intelligence-enabled, lethal robotic weapons systems unconstrained by ethics, moral consideration or human decisionmaking. The concern centers upon a single question as countries such as Russia and China operate capable and fast-evolving AI-empowered robots, drones an... read more
Salt nanoparticles are toxic to cancer cell
This is seriously important and has been impossible to exploit in the past. Now imagine wrapping a salt nanoparticle in a single shell of say Hyraluronic acid. This is an insoluble but active component protected by surface tension. This could circulate freely until released. Now find a way to introduce into a tumor. Some form of this is plausible and the active ingredient is perfect. We are slowly mastering nano tech.. *Natural treatments: Salt nanoparticles are toxic to cancer cells, say researchers* *Tuesday, July 06, 2021 by: Virgilio Marin* *Tags: anticancer, anticance... read more
New Book Explores Hidden Costs of Broken Food System
This is an excellent start on this problem. So called industrial farming has so far been about mostly about direct exploitation while shoveling serious agricultural costs into the ditch or into the next generation. A real cost accounting applied to all this is the best tool available to thwart policy makers and exploitive corporate interests who have every incdentive to ignore those costs. Sadly agriculture is no mining proposition. Recall a mining proposition has a natural lifespan and all costs dumped into the fure there often get reclaimed by nature. Centuries even if that ... read more
Is Afghanistan a Failed Mission? with Patrick J. Buchanan
Militarily, The USA is a past master when it comes to stupid. Afghanistan involvement was always stupid past the initial shock and awe. That sent the then government running. The Pathans want their own country and their natural enemy is Pakistan. The other tribes need their own polity as well. best practise was always to support them while setting the Pathans upon the Pakistanis in order to make treaty negotiations very attractive. None of this was done, So of course the Taliban survive and are pushing the tribals back out. In the end it swill be Pakistans problem and thge ... read more
Deadly: First-Ever Autonomous AI ‘Search And Destroy’ Drone Swarm Deployed In Combat
Yes, it is coming. A fully militarized drone swarm of killer robots. Way easier than a robot tank. Such a swarm can occupy the entire combat space in three dimenions, determine threats and redirect and /or intercept in flight ballistics as well. That means ballistics can be brought down on moving targets The USA says nothing except this was an obvious next step decades ago once the original drone was perfected.. *Deadly: First-Ever Autonomous AI ‘Search And Destroy’ Drone Swarm Deployed In Combat* *POSTED BY: TARIQ TAHIR VIA THE SUN * *JULY 7, 2021* *https://www.technoc... read more

Could Japan Have Secured Axis Victory By Attacking Russia in World War II?
*Michael Peck* *World War II History, * The two-front war Russia never wants to fight. *Here's What You Need To Remember:* Fighting a one-front war was the Soviet Union's greatest advantage. Fighting a war on two fronts is the military equivalent of driving a car while texting. It’s just a really bad idea, as Germany can attest. One reason Germany lost two world wars is because its forces were split between East and West. America and Britain also fought World War II in Europe and Asia. In contrast, the Soviet Union could concentrate its forces against Germany, thanks to a 1941 ... read more

The Ancient Greek Way of Drinking Wine
The Ancient Greeks believed that only the barbarians would drink their wine unmixed with water. They had the theory that drinking unmixed wine results in insanity and even death. They asserted that mixing water in wine before drinking is the hallmark of a civilized person. Since the Macedonians and the Thracians drank their wine unmixed (according to the Athenian accounts), the Athenians and the Spartans regarded them as barbarians, and tried to avoid their company. The Athenian texts make fun of the drinking habits of the Macedonians and the Thracians. The Greek mythology of that t... read more
