Today 33 Million Americans Will Claim To Be Irish, But On St. Patrick's Day In 1776 Few Irish Wanted To Be American
Many people don't realize July 4th, 1776 was not the day the war between America and Britain started, it's simply the day we traitorous colonists finally had enough of our own country's army attacking us, taking over our homes, stealing our food, locking up our guns, and throwing us in jail for no reason and we put the separation in writing.(1) read more
Death of the Battleships: When These Warships Were Sunk Naval Warfare Changed Forever
*Robert Farley* *Security, * "The attack demonstrated conclusively that the battleship, the primary capital ship of fleets since the late 19th century, could no longer project independent of air support." *The success of the Japanese attacks made clear that even modern battleships required air cover to operate in hostile areas. Several other battleships were lost in similar circumstances (mostly Japanese ships in 1944 and 1945), as American aircraft took advantage of growing air supremacy. Battleships could certainly contribute to their own defense from air **attack,** and could... more »
Legend: This Is Plane That Started the Stealth Revolution
*Sebastien Roblin* *Security, * Meet the F-117. *The Nighthawk’s radar **cross section** is generally given as .001 cubic meters—excellent compared to the 5 to 10 cubic meters of a conventional jet fighter. Nonetheless, the Raptor’s **cross section** is believed to be ten * *time** better, at .0001 meters squared. Given the continual improvements made to both low-and high-bandwidth radars in order to counter stealth fighters, minimizing the cross section is vital.* The F-117 Nighthawk, America’s original stealth plane with a deeply sinister appearance, is an example of a weapon ... more »

Dear friends! We are standing by the most peaceful border [Sweden & Finland] in the world. Here people have lived everyday life in peace more than two hundred years. Finland has lived in peace with Russia almost 75 years. Peace is achieved and preserved as a result of determined cooperation and wise diplomacy. Today there are 10,000 soldiers at this border. Why? They don't make the border more peaceful, they are bringing the war here. Parts of these soldiers come far away from USA and Great Britain. To the US and British soldiers we want to say: We don't want Your wars. Go home ... more »

St. Patrick's Day...
*St. Patrick's Breastplate* This would be a good prayer to print out and add to your daily meditation as protection against the evil forces who wander around the world seeking the ruin of souls. Questions on The Philosophical Impact of Darwinism
Charles DarwinI am reading Gertrude Himmelfarb’s *Darwin and the Darwinian Revolution*. In her Introduction to the book, she asks a set questions which by themselves are quite thought provoking. How did it come about that one so limited intellectually and insensitive culturally should have devised a theory so massive in structure and sw... more »

*Book review: "The Case against Education: Why the Education System Is a Waste of Time and Money"* Author: Bryan Caplan Reviewer: Jenna A. Robinson I don’t want Bryan Caplan to be right. For many years, I have worked to reform higher education in the belief that the system is broken but ultimately repairable. Caplan’s new book, The Case against Education: Why the Education System Is a Waste of Time and Money, says otherwise. Caplan’s basic premise, that our sprawling system of secondary and postsecondary education is largely wasteful, is hard to swallow. What about the fasc... more »
Are Drones The Future For Aircraft Carriers?
An X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System demonstrator launches from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), 2013. Photo: Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Tony D. Curtis (U.S. Navy) *Kyle Mizokami, FoxTrot Alpha:* *Is the Age of the Aircraft Carrier at an End? Thanks to Drones, Maybe Not* Last week, the Pentagon was abuzz with the news that the U.S. Navy had offered up a sacred cow: the early retirement of an aircraft carrier as a way to save money. The loss of the USS Truman would cut America’s carrier fleet down to 10 flat-tops, violate federal law... more »
Sunday morning music
Yesterday I came across this track over at IOTWReport. I'd never heard of David Bromberg: and, after reading a little about him, I'm fascinated to see a New York Jewish musician and his eclectic band playing bluegrass/southern/whatever so well. I'm definitely going to have to find more of his music, of which YouTube has a fair selection. I've already picked up on these interesting tracks, illustrating the wide variety of styles he performs. It's always fun discovering a new group or performer. Peter

*Climate science requires acceptance, not belief or full understanding: Climate change is like gravity, only accessible to lay-people at the top levels (?)* *An amusing article below by Michael Barnard off the pseudo-intellectual "Medium" site. He is badly in need of a bit of philosophical sophistication. A reading of Erich Fromm on authority might generate some thought in him.He says that you need to accept authority to accept global warming. I sort of agree with that. It is only blind trust in authority that is behind most global warming belief as far as I can see... more »
Oh to be young (and ignorant) again
There's a guy on Twitter claiming that the generation born between 1985-1995 is the most unique [sic] ever because of what they've experienced. Ha! Unique? That's nothing. My grandmother (Bessie) was born in the late 19th century and lived to see all the changes in communication, transportation, entertainment and business through the late 20th century. From horse drawn to jet plane, from home deliveries of her babies to high tech hospitals for her old age problems, from church sings to radio, TV and computers. But that's OK, he's too young to know better. What better time to be igno... more »
Gummer’s firm is paid £500,000 from energy companies set to profit from fossil fuel boiler ban HE helped push through
By Paul Homewood David Rose uncovers yet more of John Gummer’s dodgy dealings: As head of the Government’s climate change committee, Tory peer John Selwyn Gummer was a key figure behind last week’s controversial decision to ban fossil fuel central heating in new homes. But in pushing for the radical change, he failed […]

Missing Church This Morning?
Late yesterday, Only Through US, an organization whose goal is empowering citizens to protect American principles and freedoms from fear-based politics, issued a long-titled press release, *Shock and horror are insufficient responses to today’s New Zealand mosques shooting. The White House must be held accountable for elevating white supremacy. Legislators and tech companies must urgently enact policy changes.*. It was anything but a religious document. Friday’s terror attacks in New Zealand are the inevitable and direct result of overt hate speech and dehumanizing language towar... more »
