By going straight to the people, Bernie Sanders is blazing a trail to victory that shatters the myth that corporate centrism and SuperPAC support are the only options.
"There is little doubt that a President Hillary Clinton would continue our 'perpetual war,' argues Marjorie Cohn. "She would do everything in her power to ensure the robust survival of the American empire."
Our rights come from the government, not God...
The fundamental choice facing Republicans starting today in Iowa is whether they want a smaller federal government or a government incapable of governing. Marco Rubio seeks a smaller role for the federal government. Personally, I believe he’s wrong, and that the great challenges of the 21st century – climate change, the risk of nuclear fissile material falling into the hands of global thugs and terrorists, and widening inequality of wealth and power – require a stronger but more responsive government. Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, each in his own way, will give us a government incapable of governing. Cruz knows only how to destroy governing institutions; that's been his goal and operating mode his entire political life. Trump knows only how to enhance his own ego, denigrate those who disagree with him, and stir up racism and xenophobia.
What do you think?
John Farnham I think nuclear fissile materials have been in the hands of thugs for a long time. They are called the UN Security Council....and they pose disarmament proponents as 'the real danger' as per The NPT TRAP ( see Transcend Media's section ) Nor do we control climate despite claims that proof of incompetence is required to discredit climate scientists. No wonder meteorologists roared with wry laughter.

Why the ethanol fuel mandate is losing traction: it's not helping the environment or climate and raises food costs. The New York Timesreports, it is even losing some support in Iowa, where ethanol is king.

Has Wall Street created an America that is no longer worth defending? Should we send our children to fight in the rich man's wars if they refuse to even take care of them when they return wounded in body and spirit?
"The bill does not require fracking companies to disclose the chemicals or potential carcinogens used in the process, however, and includes a ban on local communities banning the practice entirely."

FLORIDA HOUSE GREEN LIGHTS FRACKING. AND PROHIBITS LOCAL COMMUNITIES FROM BANNING. The state House passed a controversial measure to regulate fracking, despite significant opposition from Democrats who said the practice could harm the state’s natural resources.
“Yesterday, over 27 counties said they wanted to ban fracking yet you are up here representing your county and you’re just going to push that green button just because your leadership says ‘do it,’” said Rep. Larry Lee...
