America's Crazy Plan To Build A True "Flying" Aircraft Carrier

Kyle Mizokami at The National Interest - 11 hours ago
*Kyle Mizokami* *Security, * Innovations often start with strange and risky ideas. *Key point: *Twice as fast as typical surface ships. Nearly a hundred years ago the U.S. Navy asked a question: if airplanes can fly through the air, why couldn’t a vessel carrying them fly through the air as well? The result was the Akron-class airships, the only flying aircraft carriers put into service in any country. Although promising, a pair of accidents—prompted by the airship’s limitations—destroyed the flying carrier fleet and ended development of the entire concept. The Akron-class airsh... more »

China's Efforts to Diplomatically Isolate Taiwan Could Backfire

David Sacks at The National Interest - 11 hours ago
*David Sacks* *Security, Asia* [image: Reuters] While Beijing’s efforts to peel away Taiwan’s diplomatic allies may provide a short-term boost to China’s leadership, this strategy actually hurts China’s long-term interests. China has renewed its diplomatic offensive to poach Taiwan’s remaining diplomatic allies, reasoning that by doing so it can turn up the pressure on Taiwan’s president Tsai Ing-wen as she heads into a reelection race, increase Taiwan’s international isolation and create headaches for the United States. China, however, is miscalculating. While Beijing’s efforts ... more »

Forgive And Let Go Of Resentments To Claim Control Back

Holding on to it will take over your emotions, leaving you feeling helpless. The truth of the matter is... more »

The Ford class supercarrier program has been a massive boondoggle, which I have been reporting on it at great length for years, and the problems it is experiencing were so avoidable one can't help but cringe.
