The Devil's Bargain-- Republican Religion

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 16 hours ago
On Friday, Trump AG William Barr spoke at the Notre Dame Law School, decrying the ascendancy of secularism and vowing "to do all he can to assure continued religious freedom for Americans." More a political hack for the far right than an actual Attorney General, Barr babbled, incoherently to the students that "Among the militant secularism are many of the so-called progressives, but where is the progress? We are told we are living in a post-Christian era, but what has replaced the Judeo-Christian moral system?" Trudy Ring's piece for *The Advocate* puts the lie to the manufactu... more »

The CDB to taxpayers for lawsuits concerning Trump Derangement

Uriel at 'Nox & Friends - 16 hours ago
For every step that President Trump and the current administration has taken, there has been an additional step that has had to be endured both for government and by taxpayers. The Cost of Doing Business from Trump Derangement Syndrome There is no way really to figure out every cost involved in every move that has gone through the courts. It would take a master computer running a multi-faceted program perhaps weeks to come up with an accurate count. We can however get a sense the magnitude of that cost. Let’s look at one state — California, one of the most … Continue reading →

The Foreign Office Must Be Challenged Over Sacoolas’ Immunity

barovsky at The New Dark Age - 17 hours ago
The government has stepped up its lies about immunity in the Sacoolas case to a breathtaking degree. I genuinely am astounded by the sheer audacity of the lies now being told, including a staggeringly mendacious FCO-briefed BBC article yesterday stating that “23,000 individuals in the UK have diplomatic immunity” and that it extends to “drivers and cooks”. This follows up the breathtaking FCO statement to Sky News that RAF Croughton “is regarded as an annex to the US Embassy in London” – a total falsehood.

Kel-Tec's RDB 5.56mm Rifle: Everything We Know

Charlie Gao at The National Interest - 17 hours ago
*Charlie Gao* *Technology, Americas* [image: https://i.imgur.com/fNGBjf8.jpg] Here is all we can tell you about it. The Kel-Tec Rifle, Downward-ejecting, Bullpup (RDB) is Kel-Tec’s latest 5.56mm rifle. In a marked change from the earlier SU-16 and RFB, the RDB is a mostly conventional design: an AR-18 style rotating bolt, short-stroke piston-driven rifle. Its sole deviation from convention is its method of ejection—straight downwards—which makes it amenable to being fired from both shoulders. But how does it compare to a regular AR-15 at its price point? Do the bullpup’s feature... more »
