Money Grows on Trees--Don't Uproot Them

PEMBA, Zambia, Jul 26 (IPS) - Jennifer Handondo, a small scale farmer of Choma district in southern Zambia, plants food crops such as maize mostly for her family's needs. Because of uncharacteristically high temperatures and low rainfall during the planting season in March, the divorced mother who single-handedly supports her three children, has not been able to harvest as much as she usually does. So she has diversified into selling seedlings of neem, Moringa and other medicinal trees. Read the full story, “Money Grows on Trees--Don't Uproot Them”, on globalissues.org →

Censorship of the internet is here folks. I did a recent interview with Christopher Bollyn and Cat Watters and YouTube took it down claiming it's a violation of "hate speech" policy. 27 states have bills either passed or pending that discourage boycotting products from Israel, the BDS campaign. You can't mention Jews controlling Hollywood, the central banking cabal, the occupation of Palestine, in short, you can't talk truth about the apartheid genocidal practices of the all-mighty Jewish State. *FRIDAY, JULY 26, 2019Being There, Mueller edition:* We're so old that we can remember when a major American tribe was marching off to war under the "R-T" sign. The "R-T" stood for "racist tweet," a description of the latest astonishing public statements by the apparently deranged American president, Donald J. Trump. On cable, corporate hacks took numbers and stood in line, eager to display their tribal good faith by repeating the crucial term "racist." Thesis, Antithesis, and Synthesis

Unknown at The Verma Report - 14 hours ago
Portrait of HegelThe famous triad “thesis, antithesis, and synthesis” is generally attributed to Hegel—it is called the Hegelian triad. But Hegel never employed this triad in his works. Some commentators have attributed the Hegelian triad to Johann Fichte, but they don’t point out the exact work where Fichte has deployed it. It is possible that Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels developed the Hegelian triad through their own understanding of the philosophy of Hegel and Fichte. They have used it in their materialistic conception of history. In his 1847 work *The Poverty of Philosophy*,... more »

The Republican Party, Arthur Haberman writes, is a fascist institution: Fascism is first characterized by a virulent nationalism, which is often either ethnic or racist. In the case of Trump, other leaders of the federal party, and many other members of the Senate and the House of Representatives, racist tropes are used all the time, most recently against several women of colour in the Democratic Party. Republicans are nationalist, whether it is “America First,” the insistence on the United States as the world’s greatest country, or in a belief in American Exceptionalism, somethin... more »

Letting the camel's nose into the [moral] tent...

Peter at Bayou Renaissance Man - 16 hours ago

In politics, they call it "moving the Overton window"; starting with discussion within a socially accepted range, then moving the discussion to gradually include more and more extreme elements, getting people accustomed to the new concepts. In due course, society will accept as common or norma... more »

Apples With Organic Fertilizer And Pesticides Contain More Bacteria Than Conventional

Hank Campbell at Science 2.0 blogs - 17 hours ago
The most popular organic fertilizer is feces while the most popular pesticide is copper sulfate. Both of those don't sound great to ingest but a new study says that extra dung leads to more bacteria - and that may be a good thing, if you believe a lot more bacteria is beneficial to gut health. Yogurt marketing and supplement claims aside, there is no evidence that your body is impacted by probiotics unless you suffered a legitimate medical issue, yet like gluten-free diets probiotic foods have become a trend among people with extra money to spend. The same people who buy organic foo... more »
