Paul Kantner-- On To The Next Gig
Paul Kanter and Grace Slick and their daughter, China I didn't know we had computers back then and I'm sure Mitchel Cohen has the date wrong as well, but this was waiting in my inbox yesterday when I woke up: Yet more awful news. The Airplane was my favorite rock band. My first date-- a "computer date" at Stony Brook when I was 17-- was to see the Airplane live in the Stony Brook gym in 1966. (Don't ask about the brilliant computer match-up). It was actually 1967. How do I know? I was the chairman of the Student Activities Board at Stony Brook and I booked the show. Capital Controls Are Coming
This is a timely notice that we are not immune to the many failed currency practices seen all around the globe. What makes it particularly timely is that ten percent of the global economy is in the midst of literally disappearing. By this, i mean the oil industry which has lowered its effective strike price from $80.00 to $30.00 and in the process completely flooded the market with full oil tankers and full storage. The natural knock off is that a huge portion of bank assets are now potentially under water or at least compromised. In the meantime all leaders are literally obliv... more »
World's Oldest Temple to Be Restored
A rather obvious step actually. The entire site was actually buried at the end of its active period quite deliberately in order to preserve it. As we were not dealing with any serious roofs, this worked fine in desert conditions. Thus complete restoration consists of gently removing all the protective fill. I am glad that they are doing it as it means that the entire site will be exposed again. That rarely happens. Againt the unique aspects of this site makes it possible and even desirable. Can't Sleep? Your Dinner Might Be the Problem
We sort of already know this but this spells out that the likely culprit is processed foods and sugar while fruit and vegetables are the opposite in effect. What is interesting is that it disturbs your natural sleep cycle. This adds yet one more reason to shift our diets as much as possible to the vegan standard It also suggests an immediate protocol for those who do have poor sleeping patterns that is direct and testable. .. *Can't Sleep? The Maths ‘Disproving’ Conspiracy Theories Debunked
A recent academic paper was published a few days ago which purports to discredit all conspiracy theories – using bad mathematics to prove its point. The paper, “On the Viability of Conspiratorial Beliefs,” suggests that many popular conspiracy theories would require an extraordinary number of people to be hiding something in order for them to be true. For instance, if you believe climate change to be fraudulent, the paper’s author suggests that tens of thousands of climate change researchers and scientists would need to be actively covering it up. The West's Illegal Occupation of Afghanistan Based On False Pretenses Set To Last Until The Next Millennium
*An excerpt from, "Pentagon on Afghanistan: US ‘Can’t Really Leave’" Antiwar.com, January 26, 2016:* While presenting it as a shift in President Obama’s mindset, Pentagon officials are talking up the idea that the US occupation of Afghanistan, which began in late 2001, is not just extended for a couple of additional years but will continue for several more decades, and for all intents and purposes may as well be permanent. “What we’ve learned is that you can’t really leave,” one Pentagon official was quoted in the Washington Post as insisting, while other officials openly talked ab... more »

Isn't It Time For Ted Cruz To Drop Out And Go Back To The Senate And Apologize To His Colleagues?
Going through his stand-up routine in New Hampshire Friday, Herr Trumpf asserted that "Ted Cruz may not be a U.S. citizen... Ted Cruz is an anchor baby in Canada." Bromance is o-v-e-r. I sympathize with Weinberg's classroom gun ban
Americans, especially the conservative ones, are proud about the second amendment of the U.S. Constitution that guarantees the right to keep and bear arms. Healing Is A Word Many Use Yet Few Understand - A Discourse by M.N. Hopkins
*Healing is a word many use yet few understand. Healing is so simple an act that it eludes the human mind. Why does it do so?* *Because of the habits of fear that have been encouraged by the human communities to protect those of limited knowledge and even more limited experience from experiencing true acts of healing.* *Healing is simply a phenomenon that occurs when one can set aside from one's limiting thoughts and outerward imposed limited thinking and for the moment be free from all the fears others have encouraged within you as a means of control and that you have allowed ... more »

Weekend Fun 60, Equality vs. equity, sameness vs. fairness, justice vs. laziness
This meme has been circulating in social media for sometime. Equality is not = Justice. Hmmm... Another one, this time, Equality is not = equity. Hmmm.... Ok. So from the above, there is a definition on (a) equality vs. equity, (b) sameness vs. fairness. Let me add now another dimension, (c) justice and equity vs. laziness. Because I think both illustrations are wrong. Why? 1. People should be inside the stadium, not outside, if they want to watch live games. 2. People should be sitting, not standing, especially with a child. 3. The man and older boy are lazy. If they insist on sta... more »

Blue America Endorses Adrian Garcia For Congress
As we mentioned the other day, Adrian Garcia, is one of the bright lights in the 2016 congressional election cycle, a true public servant for over three decades, first as a police officer, then as a city councilman and later as sheriff of Harris County, third biggest sheriff's department in the country. He has pursued a career in public service to help his community, which had no strong voice fighting for it-- and doesn't really have a strong voice fighting for it in Congress either. He told us that as a young man, each summer he'd return from school to play basketball in the neig... more »

Germany Should Not Carry Shame And Guilt For WWII
*Long Live Germany. * It is irrational and stupid for the German nation and the German people to carry shame and guilt for WWII, or, even more ridiculously, to carry shame and guilt for a genocide of the Jewish race that never happened. Six million Jews were not killed by Germans. And no amount of propaganda and brainwashing will ever convince the truth-loving people of the planet otherwise. The Holocaust was a fabricated event and a big historical lie just like the false flag events of 9/11. Any honest historian or researcher with integrity will admit this. But, sadly, there are ... more »

The headline of today's irving press? It's about how the provincial premier will use the state of the province to set the stage for his budget. In other words, there is no news. Many of you have probably heard that the American Army’s 101st Airborne Division has been assigned the role of re-entering Iraq, from which they are expected to push into eastern Syia ostensively to attack ISIS (an American invention) but actually to drive out the legitimate government of Syria. But how many of you know that this is illegal underinternational law. Russia is there only because it was invited in. The author of this column states that "The Paris meeting was a criminal act, a war crime in fact, since the only international body that has the right to determine if, when and how military forces is to be applied in any situation is the United Nations Security Council. Any military action taken outside the mandate of the Security Council is prohibited and the Rome Statute, the statute that governs the International Criminal Court, defines such a meeting as a conspiracy to commit aggression, the worst of all war crimes, because it leads to all other war crimes that necessarily follow an act of aggression."

Not all harassment victims are viewed or treated as equal.
The journalist Ashley Csanady currently has a PostMedia piece that addresses Twitter harassment in general and in particular what happened when Michelle Rempel filed a complaint with the police. Her excellent article provides a short account of the Rempel case as well as an overview of recent events, viz. the GAE trial. It is factual and clear. It doesn't editorialize or misrepresent as Blatchford is wont to do, when the demands of click-bait reporting or sob-sister sensationalizing gives her the cover she needs to champion the MRA cause. Further to what Csanady wrote, there are po...more »
