Paul Craig Roberts makes ominous prediction about Greek government
*Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras looking and sounding positively "Kennedyesque" as he addresses the Greek nation in his Sunday night address. * *"The more calmly we deal with difficulties, the sooner we can overcome them and the milder their consequences will be,"* Tsipras told the Greeks. The Poet: David Whyte, "In the Beginning"
*"In the Beginning"* "Sometimes simplicity rises like a blossom of fire from the white silk of your own skin. You were there in the beginning you heard the story, you heard the merciless and tender words telling you where you had to go. Exile is never easy and the journey itself leaves a bitter taste. But then, when you heard that voice, you had to go. You couldn't sit by the fire, you couldn't live so close to the live flame of that compassion you had to go out in the world and make it your own so you could come back with that flame in your voice, saying listen... this warmth, this unbea... more »

"The Risk..."
"Biology says that we are who we are from birth. That our DNA is set in stone. Unchangeable. Our DNA doesn't account for all of us though, we're human. Life changes us. We develop new traits. Become less territorial. We start competing. We learn from our mistakes. We face our greatest fears. For better or worse, we find ways to become more than our biology. The risk of course is that we can change too much to the point where we don't recognize ourselves. Finding our way back can be difficult. There's no compass, no map. We just have to close our eyes, take a step, and hope to God w... more »

Do you love truth enough to continue seeking even when it hurts, when it reveals aspects of yourself (or human society, or the universe) that are shocking, complex and disturbing, or humbling, glorious and amazing - or even, when truth is far beyond human mind itself? Dumping the Euro Isn’t a Cure-All: Easy Money Lets Governments Avoid Free-Market Reforms
*Guest post by Frank Hollenbeck* [image: Crisis]The Greek drama continues to unfold with the risk of “Grexit” becoming increasingly likely. Yet, a large majority of the Greek people want to keep the euro. This, however, would require the Greek government to live within its means — something it has not been able to do for decades. With anti-austerity parties gaining strength continent wide, Greece may be the first, but not the last, to leave. For many years, it has been fashionable among some economists to blame the euro for all of Europe’s problems. Yet, the problem in Europe is n... more »

The US Supreme Court gave the whole world quite a weekend. Cato reports: The Supreme Court on Friday ruled [5 votes to 4] that the Fourteenth Amendment requires states to both recognise and license same sex marriage. Cato scholar Ilya Shapiro comments, “Just because today’s opinion was expected by all doesn’t make it any less momentous. some thoughts on the u.s. moving a bit closer to equality (#lovewins)
At last, it has happened. With *Obergefell v. Hodges*, same-sex marriage has been declared legal and constitutional in the United States. Same-sex couples can legally marry, just as opposite-sex couples have always had the right to do. Most importantly, laws prohibiting same-sex marriage are now unconstitutional.* For some years on this blog, I used to note every country that joined the equal marriage club, but about two years ago, I stopped counting. More than 20 countries now recognize same-sex marriage as a right, and that number continues to climb. This issue has always been, ... more »

June 28: the meaning of morality
About a dozen years ago, I read a book whose title I have long forgotten - something like "The hundred greatest people in world history". One can, of course, argue forever about what greatness is, and whether this hundred in particular was the greatest. But they all, without doubt, had qualities of greatness. And there was certainly a bias for the western world. But still- there was an undeniable feature about those chosen. Two peoples stood out as remarkably prominent, though both were only a small part of the population even of the western world - Jews and Scots. And that's not s... more »

The Duchess
MI6 BROUGHT ABOUT THE END OF THE DUCHESS OF YORK’S MARRIAGE TO PRINCE ANDREW By GIOVANNI DI STEFANO By 1992, the marriage between Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson (the Duke and Duchess of York) was faltering. The Duchess was with various men including Texan multimillionaire Steve Wyatt, while her husband was away on royal duties. They agreed to separate in January 1992, but in August 1992, surreptitiously taken photographs of John Bryan, an American financial manager — apparently in the act of sucking on the toes of a topless Sarah in Southern France — were published by the Daily M... more »
Ben Hecht, Howard Hughes and Nazi Flying Discs in Antarctica
"It is believed that Ben Hecht and William Faulkner, both good friends of producer Howard Hawks, contributed to the script. However, long-standing rumors that Orson Welles contributed to the dialog are believed to be untrue." "Howard Hawks asked the US Air Force for assistance in making the film. He was refused because the top brass felt that such cooperation would compromise the U.S. government's official stance that UFOs didn't exist."
"Big City Lib" Channels Paul Calandra
Fresh off his hacktastic support for the indefensible, cowardly Liberal Party support for Bill C-51, "Big City Lib" now channels the cretinous, disgusting harpercon hack Paul Calandra, by chanting that the NDP isn't above the law and should pay back what they spent on the satellite offices. The NDP should pay its bills just like anyone else. Until they form government, and then we all ride free until the banks kill the party. But seriously. Complying with Law would show folks that the New Democrats knows how to pay off debts like responsible people, rather than just racking them... more »
Propaganda On Steroids
Silly, sleepy me. Until I read all about it in today's *New York Times*, I'd been totally, unforgivably oblivious to having just lived through a monumental event called "The Liberal Spring." In the space of just one week, a tsunami from "the left" has apparently changed the entire ideological landscape of America! Jonathan Martin explains it all to ignoramuses like me: *A cascade of events suggests that 2015 could be remembered as a Liberal Spring: the moment when deeply divisive and consuming questions of race, sexuality and broadened access to health care were settled in quick s... more »

James Avery/U.S. Army *The Hill*: *GAO: Air Force could be overstating savings from A-10 retirement* *Air Force plans to retire the A-10 "Warthog" attack jet would create potential gaps in close air support and other missions, said the Government Accountability Office (GAO) said in a report published on Thursday.* *In addition, the watchdog said the Air Force has not fully assessed cost savings associated with retiring the A-10, which is beloved... more »
The A-10 Is Proving Its Worth (Again) In The Campaign Against The Islamic State
The A-10 flies low, needs little maintenance, an scares the heck out of ISIS, according to a recent report. (USAF) IBD Editorial: Pentagon To Scrap Warplane The Islamic State Fears Defense Spending: The venerable A-10 Warthog, designed to stop Soviet tanks, and the perfect weapon to "degrade and destroy" the Islamic State, as President Obama promised, faces a budgetary chopping block. We have noted the irony of how Obama was going to war against the Islamic State with weapons systems he had scrapped, ending the production runs of the F-22 Raptor and Tomahawk cruise missiles. Northerntruthseeker Rant For Sunday, June 28th, 2015
[image: rant-jpeg-b] Sunday... Almost the end of June and now at the beginning of Summer 2015, and time again for my weekly rant... First and foremost, I will be taking some extra time off this Summer for much needed vacation and I will alert everyone in advance when that happens... With the absolutely laughable and yet disturbing "massacre" in Charleston South Carolina that has taken up so much of everyone's attention this last week (on purpose), I figured I would spend a bit of time here going over each false flag shooting and bombing that we have seen in this century alone an... more »

31 Of The 34 "Democrats" Who Voted Against Obamacare Were Ousted From Congress By Angry Constituents
I've never been a tremendous fan of the ACA (Obamacare)-- I favor letting everyone buy into Medicare (single payer universal)-- but I think it makes the dysfunctional American health care system a *lot* better than than it was before 2010. And I was gratified on Thursday, lying in a hospital bed at City of Hope hooked up to spinning machines taking out my blood to harvest stem cells and then recycling the blood back in me, when the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to uphold the subsidies that make Obamacare functional for the most needy families among us. It should surprise no one, though... more »
