10:06 pm MDT"Out Of Control" Super-Pig Population Is Spreading Rapidly Across US
arclein, Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
Yes this is huge growing problem, but one that is solvable. Unfortunately it does mean major changes in the agricultural industry. To start with, all farms are needing to put true modern perimeter fences in place. These use manufactured posts and support several strands of barb wire in which a couple are electrified. These are presently used for cattle and animal husbandry generally. It has to be become universal practise. What will make this easier to digest is that our agriculture has begun transitioning over to no till agriculture combined with managed mob grazing in ord...

I am sharing this because it is excellent and it is in color. We see young men and women we all knew later as old men and women. It really is as good as it gets in capturing the time and place. Color had been happening for a decade by then but there was little push to get it out commercially. Rather like out 3D work today and similar time lines. This photographer had both the hardware and the film development budget as well. Impressive really. So do watch. Kasserine Pass: Erwin Rommel's Last Battlefield Victory of World War II
Warfare History Network, The National Interest - 21 hours ago
*Warfare History Network* *History, Africa* Reeling from his defeat at El Alamein, German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel intended to toss the dice again at the Battle of Kasserine Pass. *Key Point*: Axis forces might have been victorious, but they were not unscathed. In the winter of 1942-1943, the Allies had every reason to believe that they were on the verge of total victory in North Africa. It had started in November 1942, when German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel’s much-vaunted Panzerarmee Afrika was decisively defeated by the British Eighth Army at the Second Battle of El Alamein....
OLED vs. QLED: Which HDTV Is Best for Viewing Angle Concerns?
Ethen Kim Lieser, The National Interest - 21 hours ago
*Ethen Kim Lieser* *Technology, * Wide angle viewing is important if you have wrap-around seating. It seems as though HDTVs are getting bigger and bigger by the year. And with greater accessibility to that type of technology, wide or wraparound seating arrangements have become the norm in many households, especially those with larger families. Although unintended, being relegated to the periphery can make one have to endure extreme viewing angles—which can often mean an unpleasant movie-night experience. And know that despite all of the rave reviews regarding Samsung’s QLED HDT...

After almost two months of bloody and desperate fighting, the Allies had failed to break through the German defenses that had been limiting their hold on Normandy since D-Day. In the English-speaking world, most students of military history would be hard-pressed to identify the time, place, or antagonists of the Canakkale Campaign. However, they would readily recognize it by its English name—Gallipoli. The Allied troops who went ashore at Gallipoli believed they were fighting for democracy. WWII Question No One Wants to Ask: The Ethics of Firebombing Civilians
Warfare History Network, The National Interest - 23 hours ago
*Warfare History Network* *History, Asia* [image: Wikimedia Commons] Fire-bombing constituted the worst form of warfare imaginable. It was a method of warfare that would have been anathema to Americans only a few short years before. A major reason for the development of high-altitude precision bombing was the belief among most Air Corps officers that deliberately attacking civilians was immoral. Even as the British turned toward area bombing of German cities, American strategists continued hazardous daylight bombing from high altitudes. Yet, many of these same officers enthusias...
