When It Comes To The Taliban, Washington Has Little Leverage
*Albert Barro* *Taliban, Eurasia* The Taliban has long-term options for survival that do not include the United States. It’s been nearly two months since the Biden administration’s hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan, and while the unceremonious U.S. exit from America’s “longest war” has largely receded from public view, behind the scenes officials in Washington are still struggling with what, precisely, to do about the country and its new rulers. Last month, the United States quietly engaged the Taliban in Doha, Qatar, to begin discussions on an array of issues, ranging from the ... read more

Could the U.S. Military Gain Air Supremacy in a War with China?
*Kris Osborn* *China War, Asia* Any potential air attack over mainland China will require aircraft to operate at higher altitudes to avoid being detected. A recent Defense Department report shows that Chinese air defense systems present a substantial and growing threat to the U.S. and allies in the region. The technological sophistication of these weapons systems, and the extent to which they can be upgraded, would naturally make it quite difficult for U.S. or allied ... read more

Go Joe Biden: Infrastructure Bill Finally Approved (But What Next?)
*Trevor Filseth* *Infrastructure Bill, * While the status of the second bill remains unclear, the Biden administration has indicated that it will continue to push for a vote as soon as possible. President Joe Biden has thrown his weight behind an immediate vote in favor of the two major infrastructure proposals stalled by infighting within the Democratic Party—a $1.75 trillion spending plan, halved from its original target of $3.5 trillion, and a smaller, less controversial $1.25 trillion infrastructure bill that enjoys the support of nearly all Democrats and some Republicans. ... read more

A terrorist drone attack inside the USA
I've been warning about the threat of terrorist-operated drones (unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAV's) for almost a decade. Some have shared my concern; others have been scornful, dismissive or downright rude about it. Nevertheless, as technology marches on, drones have become the weapon of choice for criminals in various fields, and unidentified drones have sparked security alerts in several instances. It's by no means impossible that those unidentified drones over military bases, nuclear power stations, etc. were reconnaissance efforts. Who's behind them is as yet unknown. ... read more

COVID-19: Does Natural Infection Or Vaccination Lead To More Protective Antibodies?
Coronavirus has been with us for thousands of years and has mutated accordingly. Since it is in the same family as the common cold it was only recognized as distinct a few decades ago, and in the past severe cases were likely just treated as a flu. But after SARS in 2003 and MERS a decade later, coronavirus has taken the world stage and it is never leaving the lexicon again. Every detected mutation is splashed across media outlets with no end in sight. Nearly everyone has to have been exposed at this point but well over 99 percent are unaffected and that leads to questions about how... read more

Climate Change and the Implementation of Road Pricing
My belief is that the next "pandemic" to be unleashed on the useless eaters/organ donor class will be one that is connected to climate change. As such, and since I believe that it falls totally within the bounds of reality, we are looking at very significant changes to our lifestyles. Governments will be looking at all manner of coercion to implement what they believe are the means to an end. In this posting, we'll look at how governments could handle the climate agenda. A recent study from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change looks at the impact of automobiles on the... read more
