The DARPA Warrior Web program aims to significantly lower the “metabolic cost” — or energy expenditure — of troops operating in the field, and reduce the physiological burden of the gear that they carry, which can exceed 100 pounds. They are developing soft robotic exosuits that are designed to provide power and torque to critical body joints. At least 15 Warrior Web prototypes have been tested in laboratories and outdoor settings. Sweden Told To Prepare For War With Russia
Towns and villages in Sweden have been told to make preparations for a possible war with Russia. Last week the country’s Civil Contingency Agency (MSB) sent letters to local authorities telling them to prepare civil defense infrastructure and procedures for a possible war. Death Of Aboriginal Woman In Custody ‘Degrading And Inhumane’
An Aboriginal woman suffered a miserable and cruel death just days after being locked up in a Western Australian police station for not paying a fine that dated back to the time when she was a minor. A coroner’s inquest has found the treatment of 22-year-old Julieka Dhu by police while in custody ‘unprofessional and inhumane’ and has released CCTV footage of the 2014 incident.
