Chet Raymo, “In The Sweet By And By”
*“In The Sweet By And By”* by Chet Raymo “In the Bahamas there's a saying: Everbody wanna go to hebben, but nobody wanna die. I suppose you could find the same expression anywhere in the world. It's one of those universal axioms, a cognitive dissonance the human species has learned to live with. We want to live forever, but there's always that nagging fear that death is final. When someone comes along promising eternal life, we are quick to jump on board, to buy into the program, to make our Pascal's Wager with a generous tithe. Conservatives Rejoice At The Criminally Low Social Security Cost Of Living Increase But Want Even Bigger Cuts
*AKA-- A Bitter Way* One of Chris Wallace's debate topics tonight was "Debt and Entitlements," which is how conservatives frame their arguments for cutting Social Security and Medicare. Hillary Clinton Under Fire For Framing Assange As ‘Pedo Russian Spy’
Not content with being responsible for Julian Assange’s ongoing arbitrary detention, the US deep state has been linked by internet sleuths to a vicious attempt to frame him as a pedophile – and the paper trail leads all the way to Hillary Clinton. The vast and elaborate smear campaign – designed to frame Assange as not just a pedophile but also a Russian spy – was slowly unraveled last night by ingenious Reddit users set upon defending the WikiLeaks founder’s honor. We need to talk about Bob
We need to talk about Bob Dylan. Not so much about his Nobel Prize for literature itself because, as a few folk have said, the truths of the poet have been considered literature for millennia. Yet while Bob is not Ovid, admittedly, he does “borrow” from him unadmittedly – as Nelson poet Cliff Fell discovered a few years ago while listening to the Dylan album *Modern Times *while reading Ovid’s 2000-year-old book of poetry, *Tristia*.. "It was like I was suddenly reading with my ears," Fell wrote, citing almost identical lines heard in Dylan's "Workingman's Blues No. 2.” *For ... more »
Mr. Winston Smith Goes to Washington
Those of us on Twitter, especially those of us who aren't in the semen-spattered, shit-stained Big Tent of Hillary Clinton, have noticed something particularly pernicious going on in this election cycle: Censorship or what is known in the Twitter community (it even has its own hashtag): Shadowbanning. It's known by many other names such as stealth banning, hell banning but for the purposes of this exercise we'll just use shadowbanning. Now, shadowbanning, the censorship most commonly used by Twitter's automatic algorithm, was set up to isolate and silence trolls (which, to... more »

Ancient Artifacts of Sanxingdui
The objects were buried coincidental with the collapse of the Atlantean global economy in 1159BC and represent the long two thousand year prior history of what we also know as the sea peoples. This same art was derived from massive wood carving that is still extant in Polynesia and along the Pacific northwest. We have extravagant bronze casting along with gold leaf decoration. Recall that the bronze would have been polished to a high gleam and the gold would naturally highlight the bronze. As we have discussed, the currency of the time was in the form of ingots of bronze o... more »
Genesis for the New Space Age with John Leith - Chpt XI - Byrd Stalks the Missing Nazis
At this point we have completely entered the world of historical fiction with no possibility of actual corroboration. This certainly explains the tale of a postponed publication to avoid so called living witnesses to denounce this tale. Worse the lack of actual science makes the exercise futile and powerfully suggests that it was all constructed of whole cloth. Even the magic engine now possible was guessed at for decades. At the same time though, we are using technology of the time and place to do thinks that are likely outside the actual reach of the engines of the time. T... more »
Democrats Paid ‘Mentally ill, Homeless People’ To Agitate At Trump Rallies
Top Democrats have been caught planting “mentally ill” and “homeless” agitators at Trump rallies, instructing them to incite violence. More Democratic heads are rolling as the dirtiest political campaign in history continues catching up with the ruling party. Two top DNC strategists caught discussing voter fraud and their roles in planting paid agitators at rallies for Republican candidate Donald Trump have been removed from the campaign as the party reels from one PR disaster to another. The two Democrat strategists – Robert Creamer and Scott Foval – were caught on video talking ... more »

Newsweek Editor Fed US Intelligence For Trump-Putin Propaganda
Newsweek has been caught being fed anti-Trump and anti-Putin propaganda by US intelligence services in order to influence the US elections. According to a Sputnik News editor, US intelligence agencies may be actively manipulating the 2016 presidential election, whilst spying on US journalists. Sputniknews.com reports: Last week, a 29-year-old American writer and editor for Sputnik News was duped by a viral — but out-of-context — screenshot from the WikiLeaks release of Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails. The screenshot contained an excerpt from a story on Ben...more »

Taking a stance
Two reports have appeared on the BBC News website overnight - *How do you verify the age of child asylum seekers? *and *Dentists condemn call for child migrants' teeth to be tested* - concerning the widespread perception that many of the 'children' brought into Britain from Calais earlier this week were fully-grown adults. Both articles have a heavy bias in favour of voices opposed to checking these 'children's' ages/critical of those questioning the 'children's' ages. Newspapers are also criticised for showing unpixelated images of the 'children's' faces. (One of these BBC arti... more »

Mannarino explains, “I think the Federal Reserve is legitimately becoming fearful of what they have done. There is no recovery here whatsoever. All you have to do is look at two metrics and two metrics only. The Labor Force Participation Rate remains near record lows. The money velocity, that’s the rate the money is moving through our economy, is remaining at record lows. Without these two metrics movin... more »
Dentists condemn call for child migrants' teeth to be tested per BBC News
'A Tory MP who called for child migrants arriving in the UK from Calais to have their teeth tested to verify their ages has been condemned by dentists. A number of unaccompanied children from the "Jungle" camp have arrived to join relatives in the UK - amid suggestions they could be adults trying to get in. David Davies, MP for Monmouth, said mandatory teeth checks would reassure people the UK was not being exploited. But the British Dental Association said such checks would be unethical. The BDA, which represents dentists and dental students in the UK, also disputed claims that ... more »

(Insert Research Method Here) Doesn’t Smell Like Roses
There’s an interesting debate going on over at openGlobalRights. Drawing on their recent Social Problems article, Neve Gordon and Nitza Berkovitch provocatively accuse human rights quantitative scholars of “concealing social wrongs” by using quantitative cross-national data that does not account for the disproportionately high voter disenfranchisement among African Americans. Todd Landman and Chad Clay, two scholars […]
