July 15: More me than news.

Graeme Decarie at The Decarie Report - 40 minutes ago
The good news is that there will be no blog this weekend. I feel the call of sand and salt water. The bad news is that I am now about to annoy some (most? all?) readers. _________________________________________________________ I remember October of 1962 quite well. I was teaching, and I arrived at school to see students in terrified groups at the front of the school. Many were in tears. I had just caught the news myself as I left home. Russian ships were carrying nuclear weapons to Cuba, just off the coast of Florida. President Kennedy warned them that American ships were on their wa...more »

The trip is seen as a move to alleviate concerns that residents may have about the health issues related to the missile system's powerful radar and questions raised about the fairness of the government's decision-making process. From Joe's Vault, May 2011: Bin Laden Isn't Qualified To Be Dead Until Donald Trump Sees The Death Certificate

By Manifesto Joe This May 2, 2011, blog post came to mind recently, as Republicans prepare to anoint birther-in-chief Donald Rump (er, Trump) as their presidential nominee. The question I would ask is: With so much horror happening in the world now, can the U.S. afford to have a neo-fascist buffoon like this man as president? Oh well, here goes, from over five years ago: The problem is, how would we know that it wasn't a fake? The golden Age likely meant from about 45,000 BC through to the Pleisticene Nonconformity around 11,000 BC or 13000 BP. This took place under management and not independently. Thus the silver age would describe the restoration and implementation of global agriculture again under management from about 10,000 Bc through 5,000 BC. This was then followed by the Bronze Age from around 5,000 BC through 1000 BC. and then followed by our so called Iron age to the pres... more »

My basic premise here is so-called Hunter Gatherers didn't simply evolve into Farming Cities, but the 'hunter gatherer lifestyle' was the result of dispersal of cataclysm-ruined city peoples. This means Great Societies have come and gone, ALL THROUGH MODERN MAN'S HISTORY and there is nothing we've ever been able to do about it. You can read it in your 'holy books' time and time again, an exodus of people isn't always a political event... People BECOME hunter-gatherers (periodically) when Nature allows it by clearing a landmass of cities, and this happens all the time. If that part... more »

A secret 28-page report detailing the Saudi Arabian government’s role on 9/11 is set to be de-classified and released to the public this Friday. The 28-page document was part of a 2002 congressional investigation into the 9/11 attacks which were classified shortly before the report was released. Cnn.com reports: Sources said there are still some procedural steps that need to be taken before the release, which members of both parties in Congress and family members of victims have been seeking for years. “This is great news,” said Jerry Goldman, a lawyer who represents families of vi... more »

JRubiales Artista - Spanish photorealism - Disneyworld via the Med

Mike Philbin at Mike Philbin's free planet blog - 23 hours ago
Free Planet's accidental quest to uncover the best of Spanish art continues with this morning's chance encounter, J Rubiales from Onteniente eastern Spain, just across from the island of Mallorca. Rubiales is a proper photorealist in the Americana-ised sense, dealing with graffiti'd city streets and vignettes of glossy consumerism but there's a distinctive set of Mediterranean fishing boats (example above) that are a delight to view. Those in the relevant art-study field can't help but notice Rubiales loving reference or intentional *homage* to the photorealist great Chuck Clo... more »

Transpicuous News: Nice's Terror & Pokemon SpyOp

D ... Breaking The Silence at Removing The Shackles - 1 day ago
For todays Transpicuous News we have a double report: First up- the "Terrorist Attack" in Nice France. As we've seen so many times in the past, as this "attack" played out, the reports were full of vastly different information from multiple sources. Deaths were listed as anywhere from 2 dozen up to 80, with 20- over 100 injured.... depending on which report you followed. Mysterious, there are no reports on HOW these people died. Gunshot? Explosions? Run over by the Truck? Not a word. And two reported "hostage situations" in Nice seemingly vanished and then were denied by th... more »

What Defines A Political Party? Its Entrenched Establishment Or Its Membership?

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 1 day ago
3 swing state Quinnipiac polls came out yesterday showing Trump overtaking Clinton in Pennsylvania and Florida and tying her in Ohio. If she loses to the weakest and most divisive candidate the GOP has ever run, it should shatter a pernicious and self-serving Democratic establishment that serves nothing but its own selfish interests, almost always at the expense of the traditional concept of who Democrats are. This was covered brilliantly by Thomas Frank in his latest book, Listen Liberal-- What Ever Happened To The Party Of The People?"... and, less systematically, by the Bernie S... more »

Is it News When Trump Is Caught Lying?

Normally we expect presidential candidates to stick to making their case without a stream-- let alone a gusher-- of blatant lies. So far PolitiFact has checked 79 of Trump's controversial public assertions. They only found 4 to be true, although another 14 were "mostly true," which means 10% of what he said was true enough. 90% wasn't. 40% of his statements have been outright lies and another 19% for the category "Pants on Fire"-- from his assertion that Ted Cruz's father was involved with assassinating JFK to more mundane nonsense, like Hillary being unpopular among women and the ... more »

Update on Peace Procession in Ukraine

Earlier in the week I shared a video about the huge peace and love procession heading from eastern Ukraine toward the capital in Kiev. They are being harassed by the Nazis in Ukraine that are funded, armed and trained by the US. Now I've learned that another leg of the peace procession began walking from western Ukraine also toward Kiev where the two groups will meet. This is very special and if anything can save Ukraine from more civil war it is peaceful efforts like this. We need to see more of this everywhere. Never let a good crisis go to waste–how the new PM just turned the UK away from warmism

So maybe May isn’t the total ho-hoper many Britons thought she might be. While everyone was still agog over Brexit and admiring David Cameron’s parting jokes, she moved while their gaze was averted to enthrone Boris as Foreign Secretary, and to create one new department while peremptorily disestablishing another. We’ll get to that shortly, as the media and opponents will too, eventually. As you’d expect, most of this morning’s headlines are because she’s appointed a buffoon to head abroad and bat for Britain. But how much worse is that than the usual awful office-holders, you w... more »
