7 October - My Yahoo!

It's crazy how I can only find this page in Pale Moon - not even in SeaMonkey. I just did a Copy/Paste from Pale Moon to IceWeasel. Couldn't find it. And Zemanta has no problem in Pale Moon - but stalls in Chrome and Firefox. But Windows 10 is crashing with updates authorized. Could be I am having too much fun with browser proliferation - especially oddball choices.

The ‘libertarian right’, Mrs May? What ‘libertarian right’?
October 6, 2016 2:19 AM
Theresa May is an accidental Prime Minister. She is in Downing Street because David Cameron broke his word to the electorate and ducked out, while her rivals totally misjudged the situation. But she is certainly making the most of her position to attempt to reengineer the Conservative brand. Yesterday’s conference speech set out the stall. … Continue reading "The ‘libertarian right’, Mrs May? What ‘libertarian right’?"
Corruption according to Adam Smith
October 7, 2016 4:15 AM
That awful person! How can someone be so corrupt?! Be it Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, or someone else, Adam Smith pointed to an answer: “This self-deceit, this fatal weakness of mankind, is the source of half the disorders of human life.” In the same work, The Theory of Moral Sentiments, Smith points to another source … Continue reading "Corruption according to Adam Smith"
The case against ‘taking back control’ – why the UK should retain free movement of people
October 4, 2016 11:10 PM
I think it was Montesquieu who once said that ‘when it is not necessary to make a law, it is necessary not to make a law’; or something to that effect. A timeless wisdom, which one could generalise to: when a peaceful activity does not need to be controlled by the government, then the government … Continue reading "The case against ‘taking back control’ – why the UK should retain free movement of people"
Hammond is wrong to assume an infrastructure splurge will boost growth
October 4, 2016 5:17 AM
Mention the name Philip Hammond in Westminster, and invariably someone will describe him as “a safe pair of hands”. The man who has been chancellor for three months had been largely inconspicuous in his role prior to yesterday’s conference speech. But after almost two decades of a Treasury dominated by micro-managers and tinkerers, primarily in … Continue reading "Hammond is wrong to assume an infrastructure splurge will boost growth"
Hammond ditches the good bits, and keeps the bad bits of ‘Osbornomics’
October 3, 2016 5:29 AM
Pragmatism was the order of the day at Conservative Party conference today – especially from the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond. Apparently, his predecessor, George Osborne, in seeking to balance the budget 12 years after the financial crash and four years after we have reached record employment levels, is a dangerous ideologue. It is … Continue reading "Hammond ditches the good bits, and keeps the bad bits of ‘Osbornomics’"
