Donald Trump: Orlando & Jeffrey Epstein Turn Good Poll Numbers Bad?

Two interesting happenings in the Trump campaign: The incident in Orlando has allegedly caused voters to turn against Donald Trump *From CBC: Donald Trump slumps in polls after Orlando?* “If Donald Trump believed that the Orlando shooting and a renewed focus on terrorism would help boost his sagging presidential campaign, polls suggest it has had no such impact. In fact, his reaction to the tragedy may be hurting him. The presumptive Republican nominee is now trailing rival Hillary Clinton in CBC's weighted average of U.S. polls by a greater margin than two weeks ago. His support ... more »

Smart Money, Stupid Money, and Flatulence

Karen Garcia at Sardonicky - 1 hour ago
Let's cut to the cheese, I mean the chase. This presidential contest, at which we the plebeians are reduced to mere spectators, has officially devolved into a battle between elitism and vulgarity. The headlines in the mainstream media blast out the story that the Clintonites desperately want you to hear. This is a battle between piles of cash. There's good, plentiful cash and then there's bad skimpy cash. None of it will ever actually be yours, or even used to improve your lives, but they do want you to root for it anyway. And at this point, the smart liberal money (elite Clinton) i... more »

Elizabeth Warren & Bernie Will Back Hillary-- But How Many Bernie Supporters Will Discover Jill Stein?

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 1 hour ago
There may be some Bernie voters who persuade themselves that the way to teach the corrupt and repulsive Democratic Party a lesson is to vote for Trump. There aren't many Bernie supporters that out of their minds though. My guess is that most will vote for Hillary and that some will stay home or skip the presidential race and that others will write in Bernie. I suspect, however that the number of votes Green Party candidate Jill Stein gets in November will be significantly higher than the 469,501 show got in 2012 against Obama and Romney. Agenda-wise, she's a far better fit for Ber... more »

A few weeks ago, I blogged about watching "How I Met Your Mother," a show that has been a huge surprise to me. At the time, I thought the show was slipping in quality. I had started the eighth season, and the whole thing was off. The characters were too shrill, the situations too zany and over-the-top. Having come that far, I was determined to soldier on. To my surprise, I was rewarded. (I should call this syndrome The Springsteen.) After three or four subpar episodes, the show found its voice again. Overall, Season 8 turned out to be one of the funniest, saddest, and most genuine s... more »

*Peter Apps, Reuters*: *After Brexit vote, can a divided UK heal?* As you drive across Southeast England, you don’t even have to talk to anyone to see the depth of anger and division the EU referendum has released. In gardens, by roadsides and on farmland, huge pro-“leave” banners read: “We want our country back”. Britain isn’t usually like this, not even during a general election. Makers v takers

Victoria University researchers have been struggling to answer what they say is the “complex” question of why welfare fraudsters and tax evaders are viewed differenttly. Lindsay Mitchell answers it quite simply: it’s because the money kept by tax evaders is their own, they made it; whereas the money taken by welfare fraudsters is not, they acquired it by fraud. *So when an individual attempts to keep more of what he has created there is less anger than when someone tries to take what he hasn't. That is why society has greater tolerance (and exhibits it through the courts) for ... more »

The U.S. Air Force was originally supposed to purchase 648 Raptors back in 1991, but ended up only ordering 195 due to fiscal constraints. British MP Jo Cox’s Killer Not A Terrorist, Just A Racist Gardener

The reason why the media has not labelled the assassination of British Labour MP and mother of two Jo Cox by the hands of white supremacist Thomas Mair a terrorist act, is because he is white. Jo Cox was shot and stabbed to death outside her surgery by Thomas Mair last week, who during his first court appearance gave his name as “death to traitors, freedom for Britain.” His defence lawyers with the help of the media are painting a picture of a man with mental health problems. Iraq’s ruling Shiite parties are already thinking about the day after the war with the Islamic State. They are positioning themselves for future political battles, which are breaking down old alliances and playing upon existing rivalries. There are growing signs of these divisions, and worries that they could turn violent. That happened in June when Sadrist protesters began attacking offices of rival parties raising tensions almost to the breaking point. One sign that tempers were running high occurred when Moqtada al-Sadr’s followers stormed the Green Zone of the first time. On ... more »

The answer to both questions? *Not very Syrian at all!* But then I’ve mentioned that on a number of occasions, the large numbers of African refugees, in the pictures of so called Syrian refugees- So let's check this numbers breakdown from Washington Post? *What nags at me about this refugee saga?* 1-Why LIE and claim these are Syrian refugees when clearly they are NOT Syrian citizens? 2- I wonder how many of these refugees, in this w... more »

Seeing Canada’s Direction? Imperial Globalization. Part III

Grant G at The Straight Goods - 1 day ago
Seeing Canada’s Direction? Imperial Globalization. Part III. *Written by Robin Mathews* Something strange is occurring in Ottawa… something more than ordinarily strange. Call it, for short, The Canadian Infrastructure Bank … an apparently totally unnecessary (and expensive) idea being moved toward existence by the Liberal government headed by Justin Trudeau. The work of such a ‘*Bank*’ can be done by the Bank of Canada and has already been done by that Bank. It worked for several decades before 1974 with unquestioned success, financing huge infrastructure activity through i... more »

*Students Protest That All-Female School Is A ‘Rape Culture’ Stronghold* A 97-percent female college has been assailed by student activists who claim the school, despite a near-total lack of men, has become a center of “rape culture” because it engages in business with the family members of a rapist. St. Catherine University only accepts women at the undergraduate level, and is run by an order of celibate Catholic nuns. Nevertheless, some students argue the school is a stronghold of “rape culture,” a set of rules and cultural expectations that allegedly make sexual assault more co... more »

In our ongoing efforts here at NOT PC to help you avoid looking like an idiot out in public, here are five things you need to know before holding forth on the self-congratulatory Hippy Issue of the Day – “five rudimentary facts about chemistry that you must grasp before you are even remotely qualified to make an informed decision about medicines, vaccines, food, etc .”: *1). Everything is made of chemicals*[Hence :] A “chemical-free lifestyle” is totally impossible… It’s also worth noting that the length of a chemical’s name does not indicate how toxic it is… *2). The Obama administration released the transcript of the Orlando murderer* making its 9/11 call, but severaly redacted in order not to give his causes what Margaret Thatcher called “the oxygen of publicity.” As with Thatcher’s efforts, the attempt simply added humour to the tragedy: Orlando Police Dispatcher (OD) Shooter (OM) OD: Emergency 911, this is being recorded. OM: In the name of God the Merciful, the beneficial [in Arabic] OD: What? OM: Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of God [in Arabic]. Brexit B.S.

Liberty Scott points out that *Granny Herald* knows even less about the Brexit vote and Europe than it does about the news happening under its feet. *…its editorial on the issue is woeful, it misses the point and is dotted with errors. There is nothing in the editorial about the key problems with EU membership, around how EU laws are developed undemocratically (introduced by the European Council, MEPs can't introduce legislation), how the EU is inordinately wasteful including on policies that harm New Zealand's economy (including the Common Agricultural Policy) and harm devel... more »

Everyone loves Calloway

Peter Cresswell at Not PC - 1 day ago
Could I please invite my Tauranga readers, both of you, to head down to the record store Vinyl Destination in Devonport Rd and pick up either a long player or a short black. Why? Beacuse they’ve just made a mess of a bureaucrat in a way that’s got folk laughing right around the globe. Before we begin, let me introduce you to Calloway: [image: Cap5] As you can see, Calloway is a cat who guards record bins – and Calloway’s presence on those bins was the very reason the bureaucrat was drawn to the store, brought there by a wowser’s complaint.
