Authoritarian Hillary is Now on the Defensive
June 7, 2016 12:19 PM
Her husband has been accused of rape and drug smuggling, and the two of them have been accused of murder and other serious crimes. Yet mainstream media insists that she isn’t disliked for what she’s done. She is disliked for “who she is". A woman.
Trump Versus Mexico: The Conflict That’s Bringing Union
June 7, 2016 12:07 PM
‘Take that order and throw it the hell out’: Trump reportedly rails against campaign staff for telling surrogates to stop attacking judge … Donald Trump advised prominent campaign surrogates to go after journalists who ask questions about a Trump University lawsuit and encouraged them to defend him against criticism of his comments about the US district judge presiding over the case. – AOL Donald Trump is facing two fraud lawsuits over a for-profit real-estate school that supposedly didn’t provide appropriate services. The case currently is being presided over by US District Judge Gonzalo Curiel. Supposedly, Curiel has indeterminate linkages to La Raza, a Mexican-based rights group that wants a large part of the Western US returned to Mexico, or at least turned into an independent country. Some media reports have denied a direct linkage. But alternative media outlets like WorldNetDaily have made the case for a broader linkage. Trump has objected to Curiel’s continued presence on his case, and  his statements regarding Curiel being “Mexican” have caused considerable controversy. The GOP presidential nominee has been pilloried as “racist” for his observations regarding Curiel. The fundamental issue is once again Mexico versus America and how the two countries can put aside differences and exist harmoniously. Right now, however, there is no harmony. We told you so. We’ve written a number of articles stating that the subtext of the Trump campaign is much larger than “immigration versus a wall.” The Trump campaign has surely reignited the controversy surrounding the so-called North American Union. This was an elite plan to create a North American Union comprising...
Influential Psychologist Claims Irrational Fear is Behind Brexit Vote
June 7, 2016 11:46 AM
Critics claim that the Brexit debate is one motivated by irrational fear. Emotion, they say, is ruling people's perspective and that arguments regarding leaving the EU are based on “irritation and anger.”
From Fed to Farce as Yellen Continues to Pitch a Rate Hike
June 7, 2016 11:38 AM
Last year Yellen was positive the US economy was “recovering.” Then she hiked rates by a mere 25 basis points and world stock markets imploded. She never apologized of course, and the mainstream media gave her a pass. But it was obvious she’d been wrong, disastrously so. Now it is June – mid year – and Yellen has begun to talk up a rate hike again...
America’s Hidden Jobless Rate is a Product of This Conspiracy
June 6, 2016 12:41 PM
Trump … said he thinks the jobless rate is close to 20 percent and not the roughly 5 percent reported by the Labor Department. And, of course, Crudele reported, anyone who buys the 5 percent figure is a “dummy,” according to Trump. This, in a nutshell, is typical of the usual economic conspiracy theories we have discussed in the past. -Bloomberg Good for Trump. The jobless numbers are actually part of a much larger mainstream “conspiracy” (as Trump would put it) that goes the heart of the way economies work in 21st century America. There are something like 100 million Americans not working, including older people and young people. That’s a fairly well accepted statistic. These people are not counted in the “jobless” figures though in fact they may want to work. They may be working as a matter of fact. It is impossible to tell because they probably work in the gray or black economy. The gray or black economy in the US is very large because of invasive taxation and heavy-handed regulation. More: Like much demagoguery, [Trump’s accusation] oversimplifies. This much is true: The employment data is complex. The average layperson with little or no economic background is likely to find it confusing. It is true that many people have been unhappy with this recovery. While there are lots of boom towns and growth is strong in many industries, they are not evenly distributed throughout the country. That is the nature of slow recoveries from credit crises. But Trump ignores these facts and goes down the path of several thoroughly...
Fifteen Years Later, Mainstream Analysis Begins to Adopt Our Meme Approach
June 6, 2016 12:27 PM
What is memetic warfare and how it threats democratic values?  …  One of the contributors of Defense Strategic Communications journal issued by NATO Stratcom COE, Jeff Giesea defines memetic warfare as “competition over narrative, ideas, and social control in a social-media battlefield. One might think of it as a subset of ‘information operations’ tailored to social media. Information operations involve the collection and dissemination of information to establish a competitive advantage over an opponent”. -European Endowment for Democracy This is a terrific article that tells us how propaganda has evolved in the Internet era. We are especially pleased with the article because it features “memes” – a concept that The Daily Bell helped pioneer some 15 years ago. Our idea then, as now, was that elite powers created specific “themes” that were then inserted into society via the controlled mainstream media. This process was exceptionally successful in the 20th century when elite control of the media was at its zenith. The memes, then as now, involved scarcity propaganda, central banking and warfare, among others. Every single meme, however, seemed aimed at establishing globalist solutions. The world was supposed to be running out of everything – food, water, even air (tainted by carbon). Also nation-states were provided with emotions and willpower. This was very important because the actual agenda of the people in control was never mentioned. In the 21st century, the process has fallen apart, thanks to the Internet. In fact, this tells us the Internet was something of an accident. The Pentagon’s DARPA created the Internet to enhance communications between corporations, universities and the defense department. But it...
The Realities of Modern Warfare Exposed
June 6, 2016 12:03 PM
Washington to Moscow: Stop Targeting al-Qaeda in Syria – You’ll Kill Our Moderates! … The Associated Press is reporting this afternoon that the Obama Administration has requested that the Russians cease and desist from bombing al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front in Syria because Washington’s “moderate” rebels are fighting together with al-Qaeda in Syria and any attack on al-Qaeda could kill Washington’s “moderates.”   – Ron Paul Institute This article (excerpted above) was recently posted at the Ron Paul Institute website. It shows us the difficulty that the “Anglosphere” is having in creating and sustaining wars in the 21st century. If one looks back on the wars of the past centuries, starting at least 300 years ago, it seems they’ve all been waged with a certain purpose. This idea has been elaborated on recently by Michael Rivero in a video, All Wars Are Bankers’ Wars. You can find the video at his website, WhatReallyHappened.com. Certainly in the modern era, wars have been waged by the West to consolidate power and create ever-expanding internationalism. The wars have drained the West, especially the US, economically and militarily. And some of them, like the Vietnam war, were started under false pretenses. But in the Internet era, the reality of modern warfare has increasingly been exposed. It is not after all a series of defensive maneuvers by the West. Modern wars are usually started by a small group of fabulously wealthy individuals who see war as a mechanism to reshape society. In the past decade or so, the West and especially the US and Britain have been fighting a “war against terror.” By definition...
Traveling to the Moon Again? Exploring the Antarctic Might Be a Better Alternative
June 6, 2016 11:55 AM
U.S. Set to Approve Moon Mission … Commercial Space Venture Startup proposes to land payload of scientific gear on lunar surface some time next year. -Wall Street Journal So now private trips to the moon are to take place. And yet, there is plenty of controversy regarding moon trips. A few years ago, various Chinese officials demanded a formal investigation into claims that the US even went to the moon. Here, from a World News Daily article, Sept. 2014: CHINESE LUNAR ROVER FINDS NO EVIDENCE OF AMERICAN MOON LANDINGS … Top officials of the Chinese Space Program have come out this morning and expressed their feelings that the American moon landings “were a complete hoax” reports the Beijing Daily Express. 200 high-ranking officials from the Chinese Space Program have signed a petition asking explanations from the American government and the release of classified NASA information concerning the American moon landings that would prove to the World that the moon landings were not an elaborately orchestrated hoax to fool the World about America’s space program capabilities. Of course, there have been accusations that the Chinese never landed on the moon, either. But suspicions regarding American claims are shared by Russians. Back in June, 2015, the UK Daily Mail posted an article on Russian skepticism.  A Russian official has has cast doubt on the first moon landings and demanded an investigation into what really happened after original Nasa footage of the event disappeared. Vladimir Markin, a spokesman for the Russian government’s Investigative Committee, says he wants an inquiry after the video from 1969 and...
Social Networks Show They Work for Government, not Private Sector
June 3, 2016 9:35 AM
Free Speech Isn’t Facebook’s Job  … My instinct as a First Amendment teacher is to be outraged at Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Microsoft for knuckling under to European Commission pressure to ban hate speech on their platforms. But after sleeping on it, I think it’s fine.    Here’s why: These social media giants are private actors, not the state. –Bloomberg We disagree with Bloomberg. Facebook is not a private sector actor. If it were up to us, Facebook would be shut down. It was funded by the CIA which has surely participated in its success around the world. It’s not really a company. It’s a facility of American  imperialism. By carefully tracking who knows whom, Facebook can generate groups of related individuals. These groups can be useful to the FBI, CIA and other intelligence outfits. And Facebook does plenty of other kinds of spying. That’s the reason it’s always getting caught collecting customer data. That’s the reason it encourages liberal – statist – reporting on its sites. It’s primarily a vast spying operation. That’s not how this Bloomberg editorial sees it. The Bloomberg editorial takes these big companies at face value. But these companies would not exist without state power and authoritarian judicial decisions. They are puffed up by “corporation personhood,” intellectual property rights and monopoly fiat money. Without these three “legs of the stool” there would be no multinationals. The problems of corporate bigness would not exist. Marry the CIA and its vast panoply of violent influence peddling to state judicial power and here is the unholy spawn: social networks. How can anyone maintain they are...
Musk and Bezos on Conquering the Final Frontier of Space
June 3, 2016 9:04 AM
Musk: We intend to launch people to Mars in 2024  … Elon Musk will send a mission to Mars without people on it — on the Flying Dragon version 2 rocket — starting in 2018 and launch a rocket headed there every 26 months.  –  CNBC Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos believe that the final frontier of space will soon be penetrated. Musk (see excerpt above) intends to send people to Mars in eight years’ time. Bezos wants to zone space for industry. Musk’s plan: “[Our rocket] is intended to carry astronauts to the International Space Station,” said Musk at the Code Conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. on Wednesday night. “But we are going to send one to Mars in 2018.” Bezos: Onstage at the Code Conference on Tuesday, the Amazon founder and CEO said that we have to start bringing parts of the industrial economy to space in order “to save Earth.” “Let me assure you, this is the best planet. We need to protect it, and the way we will is by going out into space,” he told Recode Editor at large Walt Mossberg. Bezos’s idea is that space is ideal for “gigantic chip factories.” And that the entire earth should be zoned “residential” or “light industry.” Heavy industry should be reserved for space, along with solar power, which would be much more effective when solar power “is available 24/7.” Bezos’s fortune-telling is fairly run-of-the-mill. His timeline is in the “hundreds” of years and he doesn’t provide much in the way of detail. Musk is an entirely different matter....

The Techniques of Modern Military Propaganda
May 17, 2016 6:00 PM
Propaganda is as old as human society. However, it developed considerably during the age of mass society, and now follows strict rules. Sykes-Picot: How an Arbitrary Set of Borders Created the Modern Middle East

Syria, ISIS, and the US-UK Propaganda War
May 8, 2016 6:00 PM
Eric Draitser With the war in Syria raging in its fifth year, and the Islamic State wreaking havoc throughout the Middle East and North Africa, it’s clear that the entire region has been made into one large theater of conflict. But the battlefield must not be understood solely as a physical place located on a...

Terrorism in Syria
May 4, 2016 11:55 PM
