Will African-American Voters Help Reform The Democratic Party?
Tuesday night, progressive reformer Morgan Harper lost her congressional primary to a corrupt, middle of the road Democratic incumbent, Joyce Beatty in Columbus, Ohio. The final result was a two-to-one rout-- 43,727 (68.29%) to 20,301 (31.71%). As of the April 8th FEC reporting deadline, Beatty had spent a massive $2,149,875 to Harper's $696,001. The origins of May Day
By Eric Chase (IWW) Most people living in the United States know little about the International Workers' Day of May Day. For many others there is an assumption that it is a holiday celebrated in state communist countries like Cuba or the former Soviet Union. Most Americans don't realize that May Day has its origins here in this country and is as "American" as baseball and apple pie, and stemmed from the pre-Christian holiday of Beltane, a celebration of rebirth and fertility. In the late nineteenth century, the working class was in constant struggle to gain the 8-hour work day. W... more »

The central business district may not be so central for much longer
Earlier in the coronavirus pandemic, I speculated: Think about it. If you're a business that until now has rented, say, a couple of floors in an office building to house your administrative functions, but you now learn to do the same job with most of your admin workers telecommuting from home . . . why go back to renting that space? Why not continue to have them work from home, and save tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in rental every year? It's a no-brainer. Landlords should already be factoring that into their considerations for the future - and getting concerned. L... more »

Did China cover up the deaths of MILLIONS from coronavirus?
I certainly think just from the information that did leak out that the system got fully swamped and that they locked down victims without care. All this would trigger ample self compliance with social distancing everywhere else. Thus thousands of deaths over a thirty day span is quite reasonable and again the evidence supports that. However, the achilles heal of this pandemic is that herd immunity explodes across the country side far faster than the disease itself which takes significant exposure. Thus one infected person passing through a grocery store may themself lightly... more »
