California taxes lithium used in electric vehicles
Reuters: California on Thursday approved a plan to tax the electric vehicle battery metal lithium to generate revenue for environmental remediation projects despite industry concerns that it will harm the sector and delay shipments to automakers. Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, approved the tax as part of a must-pass state budget on Thursday. The state legislature had signed off on the levy during deliberations on Wednesday night. The tax is structured as a flat-rate per tonne and will go into effect in January. The tax will be reviewed every year, and state officials have ag... read more

DeSantis has Dems on the run
Breitbart: Democrats are giving up on hopes of mass victories in Florida while the Sunshine State continues to stand as what Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has described as “America’s liberty outpost,” as the left admits they have gotten their “butts kicked” in recent months. A Friday article in *Politico* delved into how the Sunshine State has the Biden White House and Democrats “stumped” as Democrats have failed to see any significant victories in recent times. Dems funding radical GOP candidates
Daily Caller: Democrat organizations are pouring money into Republican primary races, backing the most radical of right-wing candidates. So far, Democrats have spent more than $20 million in advertising for Republican candidates, particularly those farthest to the right. Democrats are hoping they can win more easily if their candidates are running against a more Trump-supporting, far-right candidate, rather than a moderate one. The strategy is a risky one, and so far, has yielded mixed results. After a series of primary elections in June, only one of the three far-right candida... read more

Poll shows little interest in Biden or Trump reelection
Chris Queen: The warning signs are all over the place that a second Joe Biden presidential run could spell disaster for the Democrats — not to mention the rest of the country. Polls have shown time and time again that Americans aren’t happy with what he’s doing to the country. It may be worse than anybody thought. This is unprecedented; it has never arisen before in the whole history of Islam.” On page 287, he observes: "The question of political power and social organization, so central to Islam, has in the past always been considered in yes-or-no terms.
