Canada Day and the Freedom Convoy
For Canada Day we broke out the kayaks and went to Widgeon Creek on Pitt Lake. There were lots of boats on the lake and lots of padlers on the creek - canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. On the way back there was a canoe with a Canadian flag tied to a hockey stick. When I came home there was a plane flying overhead with an advertising banner. That's pretty old school I thought so I read the banner and it said Freedom Convoy. Never Forget. Food for thought. I am always privileged to be joined by one of my favorite guests, Michael Hudson, one of the greatest economists living today. We’re going to be talking about the inflation crisis. This is a crisis around the world, but especially in the United States, where inflation has been at over 8%. And it has caused a lot of political problems. It’s very likely going to cause the defeat, among other factors, of the Democrats in the mid-term elections in November. And we’ve seen that the resp... read more

Studying The Venezuelan Approach To Learning
The merits of the Bolivarian system are plain to see through the country having one of the highest educational progress rates in Latin America and a truly comprehensive system funded by the Venezuelan government led by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela. In order to understand the Venezuelan education system, it is necessary to examine both its foundations and the reality of education under the illegal US sanctions. In the decades preceding the successful election of Hugo Chavez, education in Venezuela was not prioritized. Governments effectively abandoned education in the ru... read more

Supreme Court Restricts EPA’s Ability to Fight Climate Crisis
The Supreme Court has restricted the ability of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to fight the climate crisis. In a 6 to 3 ruling on Thursday, the nation’s highest court ruled that the Clean Air Agency does not empower the EPA to limit greenhouse gas emissions from power plants without prior Congressional approval. Yet the decision comes on the heels of a global sweep of early heat waves that have made the necessity of climate action ever more apparent. Instagram and Facebook remove posts offering abortion pills
Facebook and Instagram have begun promptly removing posts that offer abortion pills to women who may not be able to access them following a Supreme Court decision that stripped away constitutional protections for the procedure. Such social media posts ostensibly aimed to help women living in states where preexisting laws banning abortion suddenly snapped into effect on Friday. That’s when the high court overruled Roe v. Wade, its 1973 decision that declared access to abortion a constitutional right. The post Instagram and Facebook remove posts offering abortion pills appeared fir... read more

The Biden police state
Andrea Widburg: ... What you see in Tucker's opening monologue is something I don't believe we've ever seen before in America: a presidential administration is systematically using its police power to intimidate the political opposition at the highest levels. As Tucker points out, Democrats have declared every successful Republican presidential election illegitimate since Bush in 2000, but no Republican administration has ever used its police power to silence these people. Democrats, though, are enamored of the police state. Obama spied on both the Senate and journalists. Th... read more

Crypto currency crash a threat to Norks
Reuters: The nosedive in cryptocurrency markets has wiped out millions of dollars in funds stolen by North Korean hackers, four digital investigators say, threatening a key source of funding for the sanctions-stricken country and its weapons programmes. North Korea has poured resources into stealing cryptocurrencies in recent years, making it a potent hacking threat and leading to one of the largest cryptocurrency heists on record in March, in which almost $615 million was stolen, according to the U.S. Treasury. Kamikaze drone strikes a threat to Russia
Daily Beast: The war in Ukraine is no stranger to drones, but the kamikaze drone strike on the Russian city of Rostov last week marked the beginning of a whole chapter in drone warfare. A small ramshackle Ukrainian drone with a tiny warhead flew across the heavily defended front line and smashed into an oil refinery in Russia on June 22, causing a large fire. Given how cheap it is to make a drone, and its successful evasion of Russian air defenses, Russian officials might soon have to worry about defending oil facilities, supply depots, and military installations deep in Russian ... read more

The Dems' insane war on energy
I&I: Maybe the Jan. 6 hearings are, as some assert, really about distracting Americans from the Democrats’ shocking policy failures. How else can one explain the refusal of President Joe Biden and the Democratic Congress to address our ongoing energy crisis? And, no, it’s no exaggeration to call this a crisis. With consumer prices rising at a four-decade-high of 8.6% in the most recent year-over-year comparison, Americans are watching their standard of living fall fast. A just-released national survey has found that 83% of U.S. households are cutting their personal spending and ... read more

Bombshell January 6 Testimony Detonates On Its Producers
There have been several competent takedowns of the January 6th Congressional Star Chamber following Cassidy Hutchinson’s allegedly “bombshell” testimony on June 28th. That testimony is now falling apart under scrutiny and exploding right back at the January 6th Committee. I include in this assessment Tucker Carlson’s very useful June 29th review of the unmoored and unhinged U.S. Justice Department’s continuing destruction and desecration of the Constitution in their quest to destroy Donald Trump and his movement, following Joe Biden’s installation as president. read more
