Hillary And Tom O'Halleran Were Once Republicans. So Was Robb Ryerse. I Trust Him, Though Not The First Two
We first met up with Robb Ryerse in 2017 when he was an evangelical pastor running for Congress in the reddest district in Arkansas-- and as a progressive. Not just as a progressive, as a progressive *Republican*. I was a little skeptical. When I spoke with him what I saw was that Ryerse really wanted to get sewer money out of politics and welcome immigrants into the country. He talked about good policies from sketchy Republican presidents like Reagan and Nixon. He talked about Eisenhower's warning about the military industrial complex and even referred to the far right fanatic ... more »
Peter Kreeft’s simple thought on choice
"Nancy Reagan was criticized for her simple anti-drug slogan: "Just say no." But there was wisdom there: the wisdom that the heart of any successful program to stop anything must be the simple will to say no. ("Just say no" doesn't mean that nothing else was needed, but that without that simple decision nothing else would work. "Just say no" may not be sufficient but it is necessary.) Similarly, no program, method, book, teacher, or technique will ever succeed in getting us to start doing anything unless there is first of all that simple, absolute choice to do it. "Just say yes."... more »

*The New American Academy: Break Out the Crayons and Play-Doh* The idea of a campus “safe space”—a university-sanctioned oasis where students can go to destress and feel at ease—has had its share of ridicule. And it’s not hard to see why: It is often hard to distinguish between a college safe space and a preschool daycare. For example, in April 2019, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill hosted a “Week of Balance” for students. The week’s events were packed full of therapeutic activities including “coloring and origami therapy,” “sweet treats,” “yoga and crafting,” and en... more »

*Climate delusion: Washington Post claims more plant growth is bad* Is it better or worse to have a global climate that benefits plant growth? The obvious answer would be, better. However, now that it is has been shown that global warming benefits plant growth, climate activists and their media allies want us to believe more plant growth is bad. The Washington Post is the latest to assert that more plant growth is bad, consistent with other ridiculous claims seeking to advance the alarmist Climate Delusion.
