This success spread to down-ballot races as well. Democrats expanded

*BBC:* *Mosul battle: Iraqi forces seize key bridge*
The Iraqi military says it has retaken a bridge across the River Tigris in
Mosul, after driving back Islamic State militants in the city's south-west.
The Federal Police Rapid Response Force advanced into the Jawsaq district
on Monday and reached the Fourth Bridge.
Mosul's five bridges have been badly damaged in fighting since October.
But once it is repaired, the Fourth Bridge could help the military bring in
reinforcements and supplies from the government-held east of the city.

Staying overnight in Petra was a great idea and worked out beautifully.
After an elaborate but nondescript (and overpriced) breakfast buffet at the
Petra Moon, we left our luggage at the hotel, and took a taxi to the
little-used "rear entrance" to the site. On a tip from Lonely Planet, we
would start the trail at the very end, and walk back to the beginning. This
would allow us to walk the entire trail without having to double back.
The car climbed uphill on switchbacks, past crazy rock formations and tiny
Bedouin villages. When we entered the site, we were the only tourists on

How Human Consciousness Evolved
director@ieet.org (IEET) at Ethical Technology - 23 hours ago
Daniel Dennett has been mulling consciousness over for the last 50 years,
and he’s ended up where we began: evolution. When this theory was proposed
by Darwin, it inverted everything people at the time held to be true – it
revealed that we were not created by intelligent design, but rather we
evolved into intelligent designers ourselves.
Summary Conflict Castration
arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 23 hours ago
*Summary Conflict Castration*
I introduce here a selection of tools used to effect swine castration.
Rather obviously, they can be used effectively and as safely on human males
as well. We do castrate millions of farm animals and we do it safely every
year.
Historically such a practice was far too dangerous, but that appears to be
a problem long solved and modern pain control is also readily available.
That opens the door for establishing a new law enforcement tool. It is
well known that castration essentially eliminates violent tenancies in the
case of individual vi... more »
The surprising Real Reason for the Hate against Donald Trump
arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 23 hours ago
What i need to share with you is that christian prophecy has been
extensively described and considered through the centuries and has been
instrumental for providing providential guidance to the christian world.
What has never been properly understood is that most of what is said is
best understood as decadal developments. Thus prophecy may well have
inspired Zionism but the actual emergence of Israel has been a decadal
event that included the holocaust of all things.
Way more immediate now has been the unacknowledged emergence of the Anti
Christ movement. Its actual anchor is ... more »
Three Mineral Waters That Can Remove Aluminum from the Brain
arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 23 hours ago
An interesting thesis that needs to be fully confirmed. However, it is
also clear that simply drinking these noted mineral wasters as a matter of
course is no risk whatsoever.
The science has been well enough tested and the outcomes were positive and
significantly so. As a defense against Alzheimer's it appears excellent.
Again this is safe to self medicate..

The new book 'The Other Slavery' will make you rethink American history
arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 23 hours ago
When i wrote my manuscript 'paradigms shift', i ended up tackling the
problem of depopulation in the Americas. The disease paradigm really did
not make too much reral sense, not least because even the Black Death in
europe produced a remarkable recovery inside three generations at most.
That made the demographic collapse of the Americas anomalous. What came
out of that is that i identified slaving as the most likely culprit and
understood it needed to be properly investigated by historical methods in
order to understand what happened.
Today that job is essentially as complete a... more »

dreams - goat-human hybrid - talking child
Mike Philbin at Mike Philbin's free planet blog - 23 hours ago
from about 3 a.m. until about 5-6 a.m., four intense and
visually/narratively memorable dreams.
In the fourth (on a walk) I happened upon the goat-human hybrid child
munching away on grass at the front of a residential property by the
roadside.
The front door of the cottage was open - *that imagery again*.
I spoke to the woman about her lovely young animal grazing happily. It
started to nuzzle me and I realised something about it. It was a hybrid. It
had the look of a goat, the four legs and the fur. But it had aspects of a
human face, especially the hybrid nostrils. Then it talked... more »

US Navy's Own Report Indicates Washington is Looking for a Pacific Fight
Land Destroyer at Land Destroyer - 1 day ago
*February 27, 2017* (Ulson Gunnar - NEO) - The Pacific Ocean is large.
Since World War II, weapon systems operating in this theater have required
special provisions regarding extensive range, long duration performance and
relative self-sufficiency during operations.
From America's Gato-class submarines and PBY Catalina flying boats used to
fight the Japanese and reassert American hegemony across Asia-Pacific
during WWII, to America's continued presence in Japan, South Korea and
islands throughout the region, it is clear the lengths the US has gone
through then and now to remain "en... more »
Is Newsnight doomed?
Craig at Is the BBC biased? - 1 day ago
According to Andrew Pierce in the *Daily Mail, *James Harding has asked for
ideas for an alternative to *Newsnight*, suggesting that the show might be
scrapped - or at least moved or given a different main presenter.
This is hardly a surprise — the bells have been tolling for the now-dreary
programme for some time. These days, many Cabinet ministers refuse
invitations to appear, leading to tension between the production team and
Downing Street.
Getting rid of James O'Brien would be my suggestion for a good first move.
