ARE AUSTRALIAN CONSERVATIVES SET TO INTRODUCE LAWS AGAINST CRITICISING ISRAEL IF THEY WIN THE NEXT ELECTION?

Going almost unnoticed in the Australian media was the news that all 105
members of Australia’s opposition parliamentarians became signatories to
the ‘London Declaration on Combating Anti-Semitism’ during budget week last

The Declaration could possibly become the foundation for new laws that

which, under Section 18C, Andrew Bolt was successfully prosecuted when he

Why Darrell Issa Should Be A DCCC Top Priority... Instead Of Another Chairman Steve Israel Gives A Free Pass To Reelection

A robocall is a phone call that uses a computerized system to call

14-year-old put in chokehold by police, charged with felony after giving police ‘dehumanizing stares’

Screenshot from CBS Miami report
A 14-year-old was reportedly choked by Miami-Dade police and charged with a
felony count of resisting arrest with violence and disorderly conduct, all
for giving police “dehumanizing stares,” clenching his fists and appearing
threatening.
Unfortunately, it’s not all that rare for teens to be brutalized or even
killed by police in the United States. There also seems to be something
about police in Florida being especially violent for no apparent reason as
they were when they beat a 66-year-old and when they murdered Nick Christie.

Why Is The Smart Money Suddenly Getting Out Of Stocks And Real Estate?
noreply@blogger.com (Mark Daniels) at Global Political Awakening - 15 hours ago
Michael Snyder
If wonderful times are ahead for U.S. financial markets, then why is so
much of the smart money heading for the exits? Does it make sense for
insiders to be getting out of stocks and real estate if prices are just
going to continue to go up? The Dow is up about 17 percent so far this
year, and it just keeps setting new record high after new record high.
U.S. home prices have risen about 11 percent from a year ago, and some
analysts are projecting that we are on the verge of a brand new housing
boom. Why would the smart money want to leave the party when it is ju... more »

President Obama gave an influential speech on counter terrorism and

discussed the President remarks on Guantanamo prison and drone strikes,
buried in the speech was a line just as critical to civil liberties online.
Halfway through the speech, Obama said he wanted to “review the authorities

Its four-day meeting occurs annually. It's a rite of spring. British
political economist Will Hutton calls the group the "high priests of
globalization." Powerful movers and shakers have their own agenda.
They discuss key issues. They do it year round. Once annually they meet
face-to-face. They plot strategy to exploit the world's riches. They want
them for themselves. They try to keep meeting dates, locations, and issues
to be discussed secret.

What Does Mike Duffy Know?
Owen Gray at Northern Reflections - 15 hours ago
That's a legitimate question, Michael Harris writes. It's curious:
Mike Duffy is still a senator, but Nigel Wright is no longer the prime
minister’s chief-of-staff.
One man tried to put out the fire; the other, who allegedly set it, is
still toasting publicly-provided weenies in the flames.
In the past, when Harper wanted to dump someone, he did it quickly.
Remember Rahim Jafer, Helena Geurgis and Garth Turner? And there are
mechanisms Harper could use to dump the Old Duffer:
If there is a finding of fraud, that is grounds for getting the boot from

Real teachers, the ones who care about their students, the ones who teach
kids to think critically and not just recite things by rote, are being
targeted. Why?
Because our public indoctrination centers, also known as schools, don’t
want children to think.
They want children to learn specified “facts” in order to pass standardized
tests, thus creating perfect little worker bees. They want to produce
adults who will not question authority or the status quo, but merely
assimilate what they are told as truth, and act accordingly.
Because of this, the school system is... more »

*Yariv Levin: laying the legal groundwork for Israeli apartheid*
*"If [Yariv Levin's proposed new Basic Law] will be accepted, Israel will
be able to proudly hold the title of a Jewish and racist state, a unique
political creation, which will certainly astonish the family of nations."*

Will it really? I mean, would such a concrete step toward apartheid, if
enacted, "certainly astonish the family of nations"?
To Israel's detractors it would hardly mean much more than a touch of... more »

UN blacklists Syria's al-Nusra Front
Saman Mohammadi at The Excavator - 1 day ago
The blacklisting of al-Nusra, a group fighting Assad, by the United
Nations, European Union, and United States is just for public consumption.
The US and the EU are supplying al-Nusra and other transnational terrorist
groups in Syria with weapons under the table. They mistakenly believe that
publicly labeling their own transnational terrorist groups as terrorists
erases their connections to them in the public imagination and puts to bed
the "conspiracy theories" that link them with these groups.
But, their ties to them have not been cut. So, publicly designating
al-Nusra as a terror... more »
patrick stewart on the link between combat stress and violence against women

More amazing stuff from Patrick Stewart. Here, he links PTSD among veterans
to violence against women and children. To be anti-violence, we must also
be anti-war. If you haven't seen it, please watch.
election fraud ruling: demand to know the truth
laura k at wmtc - 1 day ago
While everyone's been glued to Rob Ford's crack and Mike Duffy's
featherbedding, something even more important happened: the Federal Court
confirmed that there *was* election fraud in the 2011 federal election.
Not just "robocalls" - that diminutive buzzword that the media clings to -
but *election fraud*: a deliberate, targeted attempt at voter suppression.
The conservative media has framed the ruling as a victory for the Harper
GovernmentTM, because the court stopped short of nullifying the election
results. But the ruling was very clear. Judge Richard Mosley wrote:

folks are thinking about it today since the deadline is tomorrow. I have

Fires of Siberia - "Bachmann" Bodice Ripper Romance

Your MUST READ summer book.
I didn't want any of you to miss the release of a new book - inspired by
THE Michele Bachmann.
Set to release on June 1.
*"Tréy Sager’s ‘Fires of Siberia’* is a flaming ode to erotic lyricism.
Protagonist Danielle Powers, a sexy sociopath and politician on the make,
wants to be made and made again. She’s Sarah Palin, Machiavelli, and a
philosopher no one has ever heard of. ‘Fires’ is so bizarre and witty, real
yet unbelievable, and compelling, it hurts. Read it on the beach." — Lynne

* "Obama Under Fire for Using Free Government Housing"*
by Andy Borowitz
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)— "In the latest scandal to rock the Obama
Administration, a leading Republican congressman accused the President
today of using his position to obtain free government housing for himself
and his family. According to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin), Mr. Obama “has
arrogantly exploited the office of President to gain access to a
fifty-five-thousand-square-foot residence that could double as a museum.

"Our government is broke, in fact they are beyond broke since the 2008-09
decision was made to cover the derivative debt losses of the criminal

behalf of Wall Street, has become increasingly desperate, aggressive and
criminal.
There can be no doubt that most of the aware among us are cognizant of the
ongoing government discussions being held about their intentions of

What gives? We don't know. But we like the look of the gold mining
companies. They're relatively cheap. And sooner or later, they're going to

not be any poverty in the world."

Joe Manchin-- Best Friend Of King Coal

Conservative Democrat Joe Manchin is very popular in West Virginia and he
is widely associated with the state's coal mining industry, not necessarily
with the coal miners and their families, but with the coal mine owners and
managers. When Cecil Roberts, United Mine Workers president, in the video
above, yells, "They tried to bamboozle us, they tried to rob us, they tried
to steal from us.," no one could have mistaken him for the state's junior
senator. "Peabody's got thousand dollar an hour attorneys; and they got a
